Don't buy the Limited Platinum 2019- sound/voice w

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the 2019 Limited Platinum has a major issue with the non working voice/sound prompts, especially with navigation. There is no sound, no turn by turn voice directions, etc, with the Limited Platinum. There is a "quick fix" for this issue where you press the power button twice (without stepping on the brakes) followed by a third time with the brakes to start the car. I shouldn't have to do that every time I start the car to have sound/voice prompts and nav directions. Ridiculous to pay a premium for a "premium" limited Platinum model that isn't so premium with features that don't work. Also, regular radio quality sound on mine was terrible. Only the satellite radio sounded clear and good. If you buy one, don't buy the Limited Platinum.

It is time for GPS defect to be addressed! Now!

This is our second Highlander. Happy with style and performance. But the navigation has a major flaw. It is time for Toyota to publicly address the problem. Up till now all they have done is placating owners by telling us they are working on it. First let dealers and service department know about this issue. It is not safe for a driver negotiating directions by trying to view map and directions , roads and signs at the same time. This is as bad as texting and driving. It is a safety issue

Simple fix for platinum voice guidance

I bough a platinum two weeks ago and had the same problem. Toyota know and is working on an update to the software. No worries! In the meantime all you need to do is press the start stop ignition button twice in succession with your foot off the break. After you push twice, then depress brake and start. Works perfect!

The most confortable car.

Plenty of room, can't hear outside noise, love the safety features. love the smooth ride, the captain chairs in the back are a change of pace, and the moon roof is great.

Sold a defective model with a non-working GPS

Like the size of the car but was so disappointed Toyota does not stand by their vehicle. GPS defective w/no fix scheduled & no compensation for needless trips back to dealer. Don’t buy - they don’t care! Bought platinum model but no satisfactory customer service .

2019 Platium Nav Voice Problem

Until they get it fixed, press start button twice with foot off brake, then start with foot on brake. Works on mine. The 2019 has numerous small improvements over 2015.

2019 Highlander Limited Navigation System not work

Wish I had not purchased it. I only own it for 9 days and the navigation system has not worked. This is a safety issue because you have to always look at the screen to see where you have to go instead of listening to it which can cause an accident. I paid alot of money for this car and this should not be happening in 9 days owning it. Toyota knew about this in 2018 and never disclosed it to anyone that purchased the vehicles. Nor did any of the dealers disclose this issue. If they cannot fix the issue, which I'm told they cannot yet, then I do not want the car.

Very disappointed with Navigation Issues

Like many other reviewers here, we've had nothing but headaches with the navigation system since purchasing our Platinum Limited Highlander two weeks ago. The navigation system is beyond useless without voice and/or step by step navigation instructions. No help from the dealership up to this point. Please take these warnings and avoid at all cost. Unfortunately, we didn't become aware of the issues until after purchasing and are regretting every minute of it.
