We Love Toyota Highlanders
We have owned Toyota Highlanders twice in the past,l & decided to go back to the Highlander after driving a Tacoma for a few years. Wow, the improvements they have made in this model! We purchased a 2020 Highlander XLE and we could not be happier. The interior is attractively designed, yet functional. There is plenty of leg room in the second row of seats, and the third row, which will rarely be utilized, isn’t bad, either. Plenty of storage room in the back, too, whether the seats are folded down or not. We love the exterior design, also, although it would be great to have side strips to prevent the inevitable door dings from other vehicles parking too close. Toyotas are so reliable - we look forward to driving & enjoying this vehicle for many years to come.

Much better than 2013 Highlander
2020 Toyota Highlander exceeds our expectation. We recently traded in our 2013 Highlander Plus and bought a new 2020 Highlander XLE. Overall, Toyota Highlander is very reliable, with no mechanical issues in the last 7 years with ~60k miles. However, my wife had been complaining about 2013 Highlander's steering, especially driving on wet roads. Because of that, she said she did not want to drive Highlander again. I did lots of research online and initially found some candidates, including 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, 2020 Honda Pilot, 2020 Ford Explorer, 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. I didn't include the two contenders from South Korea (i.e. 2020 Kia Telluride and 2020 Hyundai Palisade) because my wife had unpleasant experience with their products in general. As I researched more (i.e. reading more reviews), I crossed out all those candidates because of various concerns or issues. My wife and I even decided to wait one more year to see if a better 7-passenger SUV would be made. 2020 Toyota Highlander seems to be our last hope and its online reviews did not mention any significant issue. I went to a local Toyota dealer for a test drive, to see if 2020 Highlander has the same steering issue and cabin noise issue mentioned by other drivers. With the test drive, I didn't experience any cabin noise issue and felt the same noise level as with our 2013 Highlander. As for steering, I was amazed by the improvement 2020 Highlander has made. I am driving a 2016 BMW 340 and feel that 2020 Highlander gives me similar steering, except the 0-60 acceleration part. With those concerns gone, I was determined to get a new 2020 Highlander. Other info for interested buyers' reference: Carmax offered $14k for our 2013 Highlander Plus; our kids love 2020 Highlander, comfortable space, fun with Android Auto...

We have owned our Honda Odyssey for 15 years and was still in good shape. We decided to purchase the Highlander over the Honda Pilot. Hoping we made the right decision.

Very few options available
The Highlander Limited includes so many features that there are few options to consider. This model has all the bells and whistles we need or want. Only dealer installed options we picked were the all weather floor mats, door edge and body side protection, and a cargo carrier net. This car is loaded with the latest safety, and comfort technology.

Toyota got it right with the Highlander Hybrid
I test drove the Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Mazda, and Honda passport. They are all nice vehicles in their own right. Some were flashier and maybe just a bit more upscale, others were Meh. I have owned 4 Toyotas back to back and they have been faithful, solid vehicles with zero issues. What clinched the deal was my previous experience with Toyotas and their known reliability, the Hybrid 36mpg gas mileage, and the ride and drive quality. This is a very competitive category, and I think it really comes down to what vehicle meets your needs. For me that was comfort, safety, efficiency, reliability and a vehicle that can take me to my favorite trailhead with my camping gear and dogs, and be a daily driver as well. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid does all those things and gets exceptional gas mileage doing it. We don't need the 3rd row and it is really only for children, so that might be something to consider. Negatives: I wish they had a spot for my large water bottle, and the wireless charger does not work on my cell phone. It is also priced higher than some of the competition with less of a warrantee; that said my last Toyota went 180,000 without seeing the dealer for anything other than routine maintenance and that has been my experience with my last 3 Toyotas. Positives: the comfort, gas mileage, safety, interior design, adaptive headlights, and quietness going down the road.

2020 highlander hybrid – a classical eco master
I received the 2020 Toyota Highland Hybrid several weeks ago. I wanted to write a review and share my experience with this car. -I only ran into 2 similar cars so far on the road. So it is very easy to find it in a parking lot – the Toyota blue logo unique for Hybrid Toyota only is just unique. -Starting the car doesn’t give much noise at all. Rather it sounds like a whispering symphony overture – another unique feature of this car – which I call it “Melody Start”. - It is the largest Hybrid available. Technology wise, it just makes sense – driving an 8-seat SUV but consuming less gasoline than my Honda Civic Sedan. - Driving for 500+ miles, it only takes one stop at the pump! I call this Liberation #1. - Be yourself. When I drive conventional cars, I was more like driven by cars around me. I tried to match their speed or tried to speed up to pass them, or constantly check my speed when I hit the 10miles above the speed limit. It was all about speed. I was driven by the car not the other way around. When I drive this large Hybrid SUV, it is a totally different experience. I am measured by my eco score which is very much based on steady speed. I can secretly “enjoy” the speed even if it is slower than cars wheezing by. I am driving and I am controlling my driving experience. It is like a fun game to speed up steadily, as if a fine ascending overture masterpiece. I call this “Melody + Rhythm”. -Liberating myself from the road competition is real fun. It is so less stressful when the focus is no longer other cars’ speed. -There are of course many commercial and economical perks offered by this master work in 2020, such as semi-autonomy driving mode that could make a 500-mile highway drive a piece of cake and stress free. Thanks to all the camera and sensors installed on this amazing vehicle. It is a Borg, not an autonomous robot. Enjoy your starry trek in 2020 Highlander Hybrid!
