Awesome Truck

We looked at several trucks before purchasing our 07 Tundra. We found that this truck had the best amount of room for our family with two small children without having to go buy the very expensive extended cab Dodge Ram. It is very comfortable and easy to drive even for my wife who is only 5'2 and has never driven a truck before. It handles easy around tight corners and the turning radius is the best. There are no complaints and we appreciate the price too. There was a wide range to to pick from instead of being limited to a certain style and price range. I would recommend this truck to anyone we have had it for 3 months now and so far this was the best vehicle purchase I've ever made.

Big, nice looking, functional

I bought my Tundra double cab 4.7L SR5 4x4 about a month ago and really enjoy driving it. It is a nice looking truck and I get a lot of good compliments about its looks. It has good power. rides well, and is very quiet. It has plenty of storage areas. The gas mileage is about what is advertised. I believe i will have this truck for alonf time.

Truckzilla!!!

I have a 4x2, 5.7L V8, double cab SR5. This is a fantastic truck. My 3 year old son named it 'Truckzilla.' I mainly use it as my daily driver but it does do the occasional truck duties, which it has handled more than fine. I picked up 2000 pounds of Sackcrete a few weekends ago, no problem. Filled the bed with dirt this weekend, no problem. I have had a few disconcerting knocks from the 6 speed transmission, all at around the 30 m.p.h. shift point. Other than that, no concerns. I was almost sold on a new Chevy 1500, but the Toyota dealer was able to give me an amazing deal on this truck. Also, as others have said, once I drove this truck, I had to have it. I've had a Ford, a Dodge, and now the '07 Tundra, and it's by far the best truck I've ever owned. Only complaint -- it consistently gets 12 mpg in town, but hey, its a truck with a monster engine, what should I expect? I'm very happy with my decision to buy this truck.

I would compare it to my 1990 F150 Work Truck

I would compare my new Tundra with my 1990 F150. It was basic but it did the job. I only have 10K on it so I will post again after 50K.

Leased two Tundras for our business.

This year we leased a pair of Tundras to replace a Chevy 3/4 ton and a Ford F250. The Tundra certainly has more style and curb appeal than any of the current offering from the competitors or the trucks we replaced. Image means a lot in business and these trucks exude that. The only gripes we've got with our Tundras are that we did trade off fuel economy for looks. Point number one. But, we found that the brakes on the Tundras are holding up better under towing conditions and stop what we're towing more safely and more quickly. So, I'll trade off burning an extra gallon of gas for brake jobs and accidents due to brake failure. Safety first when you're liability insurance is on the line. Advantage Toyota. The second thing that we've noticed is that you have to duck to get into the cab if you're a big person. We employ service technicians who are big guys and they always move the seat back when getting out just so they can get back in more easily. Not a really negative characteristic, but a little uncomfortable if you're 6'0" or taller with a larger build. The only negative aspect of these trucks are that BOTH had engine maintenance lights come on. The oil changes were done, all fluids checked, and still....they stay on. Hate to have to go back to the dealer for something so simple when the trucks run so well and they're an integral part of the business. Overall we love the Tundras and will most likely replace them with Toyotas when the leases are up. We compared all the trucks available and found that the best VALUE for the dollar spent was most certainly the Tundra. Can't wait to see what Toyota has on the drawing board for the next generation full-size trucks.

An Amazing Truck

After purchasing the new Toyota Tundra, I am very satisfied. My previous truck was a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. While a good truck, not much bed space to haul my kayaks. So, after taking a drive in a new Tundra V6 (no V8, since if I really wanted power, I would have bought an M3 BMW), I was sold! Where else can you get a reliable truck at a fairly decent price with 6 airbags, traction and stability control plus ABS all standard! Not Ford, GMC/Chevrolet, Nissan or Dodge!!

Don't Buy It!

This truck is over rated. The ride is terrible, even for a truck. It "lurches" around sharp corners. The transmission whines while on hills with cruise on or off. Interior is poorly designed and "plastic". Bed bounce will spill your coffee right out of the travel mug. The one thing this truck has is power and that is all. Will get rid of this truck in the next 6 months. Do yourself a favor and don't be swayed by Toyota's reputation for quality. This vehicle is just a poorly designed, poorly made vehicle no matter who built it.

IMPRESSIVE !! work truck

I have owned 3 toyota trucks, starting with a 98 tacoma, then a 2002 tundra, and now a double cab 5.7 liter 8 foot bed monster ! The acceleration leaves all these southern californian speed demons in the dust. its breaking abilities are just as impressive. However, as i said this is a WORK TRUCK ! I have installed the largest weaterguard tool box in the back and still had room for the longest side boxes they make completed with lumber rack . It will handle 4x8 sheets of plywood with the tailgate up. The rear underseat tool storage compartment is great. The only drawback i have foud is the lack of field view from the side mirrors. causing large blind spots on either side. (The 2002 had great field view) which made lane changing easy, something you need to be very carefull about with this model. Beyound this EVERYONE, including the dealership, who has seen this truck set up the way I have it is impressed. I work construction and this is the truck I have always wanted. toyota's reliability will make it a great investment.
