Best Re-Entry Car Ever
We went without a car for many years, but because of recent life changes, it became untenable for us to remain dependent on public transportation for everything. Research in Consumer Reports and on Cars.com indicated that the Yaris would be a great bet for us. I found a great little 2dr hatch nearby, and we fell in love. The handling is better than I expected for such a small, lightweight little car, and the ride is quite comfortable. Some people find the center-mounted instrument panel annoying, but again, we like it: it's very similar to the Prius, and you don't have to shift your hands around to see various numbers and read-outs. We purposely did not get a car with lots of automatic features, and it's a manual transmission, choices which are not for everyone, but it's really fun to drive, and we don't worry about anything breaking and needing expensive repairs. It's a dream to park because of its small size and handling, yet recently when installing a car seat, I found the back so roomy that I could easily step in and almost stand upright when working. With three bags and various traveling sundries, three adults and a child made a 300-mile trip pretty comfortably. Even better was the 42MPG for the entire round-trip, including a week of city driving. It's true that every time I drive over some of Brooklyn's famous canyons we call 'potholes,' I cringe for my little buggy, but that's more a statement about the terrible streets than our car. It's also a little noisier than other Toyotas, or so I've been told, but it's still quieter than some little Chevy and Ford models I've driven in the past. We love this car, and we'd buy it again in a second.

I love my 2007 Toyota Yaris 3 door liftback
My previous vehicle was a 1994 Ford Escort wagon with A/C, automatic, winter package. The Toyota Yaris 3 door liftback is easier to park than the Escort Wagon. The Yaris getter better fuel economy than my Escort. The Yaris has more head room that the Escort. I have not bumped my head getting into my Toyota Yaris. I was always bumping my head getting in to my Ford Escort. The Yaris is a excellent example of cab forward with European city car design. The Taris short front end makes it easy to look side ways at intersections. I love my Yaris so much that I traded in a Ford Ranger Super Cab with the 5.0 liter motor as a down payment on a second 2007 Toyota Yaris 3 door liftback. I bought both Yarises with automatic, A/C and winter package. A must for drving in North East Ohio. I was able to use the empty space created by Toyota moving the dash gages to the top center of the dash to mount my Garmin navigation system, plus a ecometer (tm), behind the steering wheel. Plus the 4 storage areas in the front dash beat any other vehicle's dash design. I suffer from injuries caused by being hit by a van. Options like automatic, A/C, Power Steering, power brakes, power windows are a must for me. The only complaint I have is that Toyota waited until 2009 to introduce the Toyota 5 door liftback.

I Love My Yaris
I have the Yaris Sports Coop and it has been an excellent car. I have almost 40,000 miles on it and I'm averaging 36-38 MPG. When I consider what I paid for this car and the little difference I would get in fuel economy in a hybrid I'm glad I made the decision to buy this car. My only complaint would be I don't have remote door locks - other than that the car is PERFECT!

my first car
i bought this car with 14 miles on it, three months after driving off the lot my air conditioner was messed up, not getting cold and shaking my dashboard. i took it back to get it checked because its under warranty. yea right, they charged me and said it was my fault because i had paper in m y glove compartment, and it was sucked in there when i turned on my air. now two years later i turn on my air conditioner and water starts to leak excessively on the passenger side. i figured i don't want to go through it no more and is trading my car. its had other problems such as rolling backwards by itself cd player and transmission.

Reliable, Economical, BUT it has its quirks.
My girlfriend bought a Toyota Yaris and we take it everytime we go somewhere. It is a very fuel efficient car, roomy interior, and some cool features for the price. But it has things that bug me. First off, the placement of the speedometer isn't my taste...I like to be able just to glance down to see my speed but I have to glance over and down and it just distracts the driver. Secondly, the accelerator pedal is extremely flemsy and as soon as you touch it, the car jumps forward. It's just too jumpy...not a smooth drive. Thirdly, the price is very deceiving. They give you a price tag of about 12,100 dollars but if you want the "options" such as power windows, locks, and anti-lock brakes, you'll pay closer to 19,000. I know it's a reliable car because Toyota builds with pride and in my experience, fuel efficient as well. I personally drive a 1999 Honda Civic and I prefer it over the Yaris. Although it does have quirks, I think it's a good car if you're looking for economy and value.

Amazing MPG, Amazing Quality Feel
I bought this car for MPG reasons.... for my 50 mile RT commute per day. 24 of those miles are faster freeway conditions. I routinely do 41-42 mpg in all my combined traffic with this car.... and I drive it hard, I'm not trying to conserve fuel at all. The thing I notice is how the car actually feels like it literally "WANTS" to move along at a fast clip .... with tremendous ease... like there is very little friction or energy loss in the system. Its a hard feeling for me to describe.. but I noticed it the minute I got behind the wheel and I continue to notice every day I drive it... now for 2 months. It is NOT a sports car, nor a comfort car... but I'm amazed at how refined this car feels... it feels SOLID.... but I know its a very light little car. I have the 4 door sedan and I'm amazed at how large it feels inside. I only paid 9500 for mine with 19k miles on it and it will pay itself off in about 2 - 3 years... and OH... by the way..... I DID keep my Chev K25 XCab HD Silverado 4x4 for weekend work and play.. but not as my daily commuter. I travel a lot for my job and I always rent different economy cars... Aveo's, Foci, Rio's, Nubira's, Accents, Accords... I make a hobby out of trying out all different types of cars when I rent (e.g., like the GTH Shelby and the convertible Vette). The Yaris is the best econo-box going so far. Love mine.

Doesnt hold up in a crash
I loved the car untill we had a crash in it. A 10 mile an hour head on crash crunched the frount of the car and bent the frame. I would hate to see what would happen to this car at 45-60 miles an hour. If a 10 mile an hour crash totals this car, its not made as well as I had though. We are very unhappy, and out alot of money. We have two small kids, and we worry what this car would do in a more intence crash. Cheap, and not well made. Dont buy.

Very Economical
Traded in my gas hungry SUV for a blue Toyota Yaris Liftback. Trips to the gas station have not been as many. The little bars that indicate the amount of gas that is left move down very slowly. Inside it does not feel as small as it looks on the outside. The sound system is more than enough and there is even a jack on the lower console to plug in an MP3 player, pretty awesome. The back seat is kept folded down so there is always plenty of cargo space to toss stuff in the back. The engine is fairly quiet for a small car with plenty of pep to make it move in city traffic and on the highway. There are storage bins everywhere you look making it easy to keep things organized and clutter free. Driving long distances can be a challenge as you keep shifting to find a new comfortable position. The huge windshield lets to see out clearly though you cannot see the hood and it feels kind of strange like there is no front end. The rear window is small but the rear wiper keeps it clean for good visibility. Manual shifting is smooth and easy but the clutch feels kind of spongy and soft. Brakes work well even on wet slippery roads. Seatbelts are comfortable and do not have the tendency to climb up your chest. My next vehicle may be a Scion Xd.

Nothing on the road looks as good as my Yaris!!!
I traded a '07 Toyota Corolla in with only 3000 miles on it for my '08 Yaris. I'm 51 and when hatchbacks entered the U.S., they were true hatchbacks with only two doors. Thank goodness Toyota didn't try to force four doors into this great looking auto. I absolutely love my Yaris. 6 airbags, anti-lock brakes, power everything. Be prepared to meet a lot of people when you park your Yaris. Everyone wants to know more about the Yaris. I have been approached by drivers in Mercedes, SUVs, Minis, Trucks, and other gas guzzlers. Everyone loves the look of the Yaris and when they ask me about the gas mileage I simply tell them that I have owned my Yaris since November of 2007 and haven't filled it up yet!!!
