2023 Toyota Corolla Updates Mean More Money (Except for the Hybrid)

Pricing is now available for the 2023 Toyota Corolla lineup (sans the separate Corolla Cross and GR Corolla), which the automaker has refreshed for the new model year. The sedan, hybrid and hatchback all get refreshed exterior styling, updated interior tech and improved safety features, while the Corolla hybrid also adds available all-wheel drive. Unsurprisingly, this might make the 2023 Corolla of your choice more expensive than a comparable 2022 model, especially with the elimination of the base L trim — though the Hybrid LE actually drops in price.

Also notable is the apparent elimination of a manual transmission from the sedan and hatchback (again, excluding the GR Corolla). It also appears that the XLE and sportier Apex sedans have joined the L on the sedan chopping block. Meanwhile, the Corolla Hybrid adds the SE and XLE trims to its 2023 roster, along with optional all-wheel drive for the LE and SE.

We’ve detailed the changes in the link above; below is pricing. All prices in parentheses are increases unless otherwise noted. The most affordable 2023 Corolla is now the gas-only LE sedan, priced from $22,645 (all prices include destination), which is a $1,125 increase over the 2022 L and a $675 jump from a 2022 LE.

2023 Corolla Sedan

  • LE: $22,645 ($675)
  • SE: $25,045 ($1,075)
  • XSE: $27,795 ($375)

2023 Corolla Hybrid

  • LE: $23,895 ($1,250 decrease)
  • LE (AWD): $25,295 (new for 2023)
  • SE: $26,295 (new for 2023)
  • SE (AWD): $27,695 (new for 2023)
  • XLE: $27,695 (new for 2023)

2023 Corolla Hatchback

  • SE: $24,060 ($700)
  • XSE: $27,525 ($1,215)

The 2023 Corolla has a much lower starting price than a 2023 Honda Civic, which starts at $25,745 for a Sport sedan, but the 2023 Hyundai Elantra SE ($21,645) and 2023 Subaru Impreza sedan ($22,115) have lower prices than the base 2023 Corolla.
