Excellent purchase experience, highly recommend

My wife and I had been shopping for a low-priced, reasonable mileage used Honda for our son, even driving to Tennessee and South Carolina, answering ads that ultimately were unsafe, awful cars. We really wanted a Honda, Returning home from another wasted trip, I asked her to check out Auto Advantage, as I had always seen nice cars in their lot as I drove by. We had a great time with our salesman, Dustin, as he came with us on several test drives. But they didn't have what we were looking for. Then the sales manager got involved, and steered us toward a car we would never had considered, a beautiful like-new Ford Focus, complete with all maintenance records, a little gem of a car, which we ended up buying. I feel we were treated with great respect, and were given reliable, informative advice, and in spite of having no idea what the car was worth, having concentrated on Hondas for weeks, we discovered after the fact that we paid a fair price. This was a very positive buying experience and I would not hesitate to shop at Auto Advantage again. For any doubters out there, I have two comments: This is a genuine review - I don't work for these guys, and I believe that they deserve to make a reasonable profit when they sell a car.

Jerry thank you for the outstanding review and glad we were able to help find you the right vehicle for your son

Very unprofessional staff, cannot be trusted

My girlfriend put an ad in Craiglist in Pittsburgh PA for a 2010 Charger. This car was in very good condition... the only issue was that it was in an accident (deer) and the side of the car was repainted. (By a very good auto body shop, btw). Auto Advantage first offered much less than the car was worth... against my advice, my gf accepted the offer. The driver flew up to PA and informed my gf that someone would need to pick him up at the airport (VERY unprofessional... get a cab, you cheapskate). Next, he looked at the car and informed her that the previously-agreed-to price was now unacceptable; they wanted to renegotiate. Unfortunately, I had an important business meeting and was not able to be there. The driver ended up browbeating my gf into accepting a lower offer. When I talked to Mark Cooley, the purchasing director, he proceeded to come up w/every excuse in the book... He first insisted that the trade-in value was *less* than what they offered. When I quoted him NADA trade-in values which were thousands above his 'supposed' trade-in value, he changed his tune and said that the repainted area was worse than they were originally told. When I told him that I had spoken to Travis Lewis (Purchaser) by phone and informed him of the extent of the body work, he then changed his story again and informed me there were *tape lines* from the repainting. There weren't... the entire body piece was repainted (not a portion of it) so there could be no tape lines. This strikes me as a very unprofessional organization. If you do deal with them, make sure you hold them to any deals they make (and check w/other companies to make sure the deal is actually a good deal)

Dale we are sorry we didn't purchase your girlfriends car however we authorize the right not to purchase a vehicle based on the examination of it, her car did not meet our standards hopefully the person who purchased it was able to overlook the severeness of the previous damage

These guys are good...

THE BEST 'TRUCK BUYING' PURCHASE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. I never normally leave reviews, but i was baffled about the 1 star reviews by a couple of other customers. ?? So had to say something. First, I've been driving by this place for over 10 years and it is always packed with customers and nice vehicles. Recently, I searched online, like most consumers nowadays, and found 3 vehicles I was interested in. I visited the first dealership, a local Nissan dealership, and was blown away how rudely i was treated. Online, the truck said 'call for price'. When i arrived, they wouldn't tell me the 'actual price' on the vehicle unless i agreed to buy it first? Sounds backwards, right ? I left without even driving the vehicle. Then, I went to Auto Advantage, and met with a sales representative who answered my questions and introduced me to the manager, Richard, who went over the details of the purchase and actually "listened" to my concerns. I left. The third dealership was Chevrolet, and my gripe with them was that the salesman kept telling me "I don't know, but I'll find out" on every question ??? Annoying, considering I knew more about the vehicle than the salesman. Also, the bed of the truck had a bubbled-up look near the back rear corner of the bed. I am not experienced enough to know whether it was paint filler or rusting, but i took a pass on the vehicle and went back to Auto Advantage. Upon returning, the sales representative was with another customer, but immediately the manager Richard came over to welcome me back and go over some details of the price, financing, and my trade-in. Within 10 minutes, we had agreed to the prices and i was signing paperwork and out the door in less than 30 minutes ! As a comparison, my last purchase was with CarMax 4 years ago and it took almost 2 hours ! and the inspection guy initially low-balled me on my trade-in at CarMax. So, I don't know why someone would say "don't trust these guys" but in my case, they are way above the norm. Kenneth D.

Kenneth thank you for finally giving us a chance and purchasing a vehicle from us, also thanks for the great review

Did not purchase, but

I was searching the net and pricing seemed fair for the market. Ultimately I bought a vehicle closer to home but they did a good job of answering questions, following up and not being annoying. Good hunting.

Payments

Got my Nissan cube financed from auto advantage, the general manager said they would send me a bill to remind me of my car payments on september 2. I'm still waiting for the bill today, I called over there & the receptionist said they NEVER send bills out. She also gave me some number to call, didn't tell me what for. Called back a few minutes later to see if I could just send it to them since it was financed through auto advantage & the girl was beyond rude to me. & here I am, late on my car payments not knowing where to send the money for it. Because auto advantage won't tell me!!!!

Courtney we are sorry for the misunderstanding, most vehicles purchased are financed with bank or lenders and they are to send you the information about your payment not auto advantage however we are more than happy to tell you anything about your purchase while you are on the property so we can verify that it is you. I hope you got it straightened out, it sounds like we gave you the number to the bank

Went into dealership and asked specifically to speak to...

Went into dealership and asked specifically to speak to Sales Manager. I was asked to be seated until the Manager became available. Another person approached me, looked me in the eye and introduced himself as the Sales Manager. After a lengthy conversation he asked me to have an appraiser view my trade in vehicle. He reiterated that "he" had authority to make an offer. I subsequently found out that he was a "Sales Associate" with NO authority over my trade in whatsoever. He baited me with a dishonest representation of his authority. I would never do business under those circumstances. A subsequent conversation with the real sales manager concluded with an apology.

I had a great experience with Auto Advantage.

I purchased a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V for my wife on June 28, 2013. I called the dealership about an online listing and talked to Brett Pettit. I told him I wanted to make the purchase a surprise for my wife. I put a deposit down on the car to hold it and then Brett Fedex'd the contract to me overnight. I was originally going to ship the car but a trip came up that put me close enough to there to pick up the car myself. I told Brett of the change of plans and he bought a nice bow to put on the grill. When we picked up the car, my wife was completely surprised and teared up. It is a phenomenal car and it was pristine just as he described. I saw a couple bad reviews on here about Auto Advantage so I really wanted to let people know I had a good experience with them. Justin thank you for allowing us to assist in the surprise for your wife and look us up again when you or her are in need of a surprise

Be very careful!

You cant beleive anything they tell you. They will take your car for nothing and talk you into a down payment, sign the contracts send you home with car and then tell you to come back to renegoitate. I wouldnt trust them no further then I could throw them!!!

Who are you? Anonymous complaints can neither be informative nor corrected in the future. My name is Christopher Thompson, I am the General Manager. You are welcome to call or write me with a direct complaint. I am sure I can resolve your issue.

Bunch of Liers

You have to b very careful when dealing with them. They will tell you that you are aproved....sign contracts and let you dive car home. Then call you days later telling you that you need to come back in to "talk". I wouldnt trust them!!!!

Unfortunately the banks are the final say so when it comes to purchases, if they required a check stub or proof of income or residence then it is on you as the customer to provide it then they have to approve it. Doesn't sound like they did, take care and good luck with future purchases
