I should have known when they kept repeating that the car
I should have known when they kept repeating that the car I bought was 'as is'. It lasted one month. After it was towed to a service place I was informed that there was a hole in the engine, which was why all the oil leaked out. I called to tell M.A.S. about it, and to ask about a different car. They had me fill out a finance form (first car was cash), then never called me back.

Mary, the firebird that you bought for 1200 was purchased as is with Engine Knocking disclosed clearly. in this CRAZY MARKET, 1200 Cant find a good running vehicle. Your comment along with the person who inspected it was "not sure how will this last but that all I am going to spend". After the situation, we contacted you and advised you the outcome of your credit application! Banks have asked for certain stipulation that you never brought back!
Absolutely the worst car buying experience I have ever
Absolutely the worst car buying experience I have ever had in my life. Purchased a used hybrid from them and less than 24hrs later the car begins having major issues that put my life and my daughter's life in jeopardy as this vehicle randomly cuts off while driving. The only issue I was aware of before purchasing was that the A/C was out, which of course, any person purchasing would have no problem spending $200 to get a seamless issue resolved. I have spent ~4K to get the issue resolved INCLUDING taking it to the Hyundai dealer for diagnosis and repair and the vehicle still won't function properly without jerking and losing acceleration on the road. Things like this have you really questioning everything and asking, "Why me?". They say that as long as the car "runs" they have the right to sell them but that doesn't discount the fact that they sell crappy vehicles that they most likely get from auctions where cars go to die. If I wanted to purchase a vehicle that had major issues that costs thousands of dollars to repair I would have simply gone to Copart. Long story short, these folks should absolutely not be trusted and are simply in it to make a quick buck by selling you unreliable, low-quality, uninspected, vehicles that are bound to burn a hole in your pocket. They should have their dealer licenses revoked!

Grant, we are really sorry that you have had these issues. You contacted us and we simply asked to bring the car back so that we can inspect. From there, we were told that someone have replaced your hybrid battery and car was still having issues? when we asked for a diagnosis and a report or even should have been taken to a Hyundai dealership to inspect? non of that was there. We can help based on us seeing the vehicle and looking at facts, but frankly not sure what happened and who worked on your vehicle? hybrid battery was test good before you left and did not go bad and should not have been replaced and apparently replacing it did not help.
UPDATE: The hybrid battery actually had nothing to do with the defects I am experiencing, so let's rule that out. The older battery was actually from the previous generation of the Hyundai Sonata Hybrids (2011-2013) and was the wrong part number, that's why I replaced it aside from the main issue at hand. I discovered that when I noticed the air vent on the battery was facing the wrong direction. Nevertheless, the car has been in and out of the Hyundai dealership 3 times since I've taken it to them in late July. They managed to replicate the issue, but because it's intermittent they have not been able to accurately diagnose the issue because no codes appear. THEY DID however discover that the vehicle was in an accident, which was not disclosed to me upon the day of purchase and did not appear on the CARFAX report. The code that appeared was an airbag code that said the airbags had been deployed and that the historical code is stored in the car's computer. They pulled up the VIN number and noted that a CLASS-II vehicle repair had been done on the vehicle after it was bought back from Hyundai and then most likely sold to an auction. This vehicle has been a nightmare for me and there still isn't a remedy for the situation as it is now in the shop again for an even more thorough diagnosis that continues to burn a hole in my pocket. I've taken up this dilemma with Hyundai Corporate and am praying for a buyback because either that or selling the vehicle will be my only 2 options. I owe all of this to you, Midwest, for making a worst-case scenario a reality for a trusting customer.
When asked about this vehicle I was never contacted back

Warning! Bad Dealership.
I would advise anyone who values their time to not deal with midwest auto store. Specifically, keep an eye out for Johnny. After scheduling a long drive to check out a car days in advance he was incapable of making sure the car was in working order before I spent 6 hours driving one way to check it out. The clutch didn't work so he sent me home and has since raised the price. No curtesy or competency shown here.

We purchased a truck at Midwest Auto Store.
We purchased a truck at Midwest Auto Store. I think we got a decent deal on the new truck, and are enjoying it so far. However, my disappointment is in how we were treated with regard to our trade-in. First, we drove our trade-in vehicle over an hour to the shop (after calling ahead and discussing possible trade in value and all details about the truck beforehand). We assumed we would get at least $3k on trade-in for the truck. We knew we could get more selling privately, but it was not worth the hassle of that to us. After looking and selecting the vehicle we wanted to purchase (and going through the financial paperwork) they finally had the "service manager" inspect the trade-in. He came back and told the "financial manager" that the truck would not go over 20 mph... after we were driving 70+ mph to get to the dealership. My husband asked for the service manager to show him what he was meaning, because obviously this was not what was happening on the way down. They took a test drive together and (GASP!) suddenly the truck could in fact go the intended speed. It is an older diesel, and there is a gap in the uptake manifold which is causing it to pick up a little slower than it would otherwise. This was all explained BEFORE we drove an hour and went through the process of looking at the vehicles on the lot. The "financial manager" offered us $1200 for the trade in, which was frankly insulting. However, because no one had even looked at the vehicle for the first 4.5 HOURS we were also feeling some pressure to get back home. The financial manager did eventually negotiate some, and we took the deal just to be done with it and because we had not planned to leave with the trade-in. During negotiation, the financial manger told us MANY times that he would not be putting the truck on his lot, that he would only be able to sell it for salvage, etc. and gave this as the reason for the very lowball offer on the trade-in. We said, come on man, you will have this on the lot next week for $5-6K. No, he said, we will not put it on our lot... Well look what we have on the lot today... our old truck with a $3000 (272%) markup! https://www.midwestautostore.com/inventory/used-2003-ford-f-250sd-4wd-4d-crew-cab-1ftnw21p93ec43793/ And nothing at all done to the vehicle. I understand they need to make a profit on resale, and I am totally fine with that. I just prefer not to be lied to and low balled.... and I really prefer not to be at a used car dealership for a total 6 hours when all is said and done.

Joshua, We are so sorry that we really did not want your trade. Based on extreme rust situation, Turbo not operational and being a diesel 6.4L engine which was the worst engine ever made. Vehicle took 2 min plus to accelerate to normal 40/50 miles speed, and all of that was not disclosed! Again, we offered you to take the trade out of the deal as I personally told you we are not interested, but still you insisted and we gave you a number and tried for you. we gave you more that it is worth to us and you accepted! Just for you to understand, we are in business to make money and we are a full blown full service center 300-400 cars employing 30-40 people with high overhead and you like hundreds of others drive here for 1-5hr+ for our best value and selection. GET REAL, business not PERSONAL…
Highway Robbery
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! I went to this dealership for a specific vehicle after calling twice to confirm availability - when I showed up to test drive, the car was not road worthy! Brakes so bad it wasn't even drive-able, after they'd told me twice to come on in... When I got there, they tried to convince me to pay for it up-front and sign a contract for the necessary repairs - couldn't even answer the simple question of whether parts were on-order, or on-site... What a bunch of jokers!!! Who lists a car for sale that can't even be test-driven, when they have the garage right there?!? VERY DISAPPOINTED, would advise that anyone looking for a decent, reliable daily driver avoid this place like the plague. They'll give you the run-around and lie straight to your face - not entirely sure how this place is still in business, highly doubt they're turning any profit with the way they're running things... NOT TO BE TRUSTED, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!

April, we are so sorry about you did not think that car was no safe just because the brakes were rusty. lets chare NOWADAYS reality: car supply short (all over the news) every lot is empty and we have 300+ and we move100-200 units monthly: our service is booked up to 2 months and we are working double shifts but cant keep especially with LABOR SHORTAGES (all over the news). we are prioritizing repair items especially major ones, that is why minor brakes issues are put on a back burner but in return our BIGGEST POINT is that we offer extremely competitive values that will overcome and compensate for minor issues. In short, we are doing our best but the crazy market pricing and labor shortages are just not making the perfect car story for the best value very achievable. FYI, every car is inspected and major issues as well as minor issues are all disclosed. Search the market for yourself and keep in mind you cant expect a perfect new car (especially nowadays) for a bargain price! brakes are $300 but your are saving close to $2000

Linda, I am sorry that our pricing has changed. We are a bottom line store that move hundreds of cars monthly and if additional service items become an issue, typically we have to decide if we can absorb in current price or need to change. In this situation, we had to do additional service items that were not present when car arrived and priced and we offered the lower price option without repairs or updated price with repairs. Th price change still heavily discounted and reflect such repairs at half to what you expect to pay
