Warning! Bad Dealership.
I would advise anyone who values their time to not deal with midwest auto store. Specifically, keep an eye out for Johnny. After scheduling a long drive to check out a car days in advance he was incapable of making sure the car was in working order before I spent 6 hours driving one way to check it out. The clutch didn't work so he sent me home and has since raised the price. No curtesy or competency shown here.

We purchased a truck at Midwest Auto Store.
We purchased a truck at Midwest Auto Store. I think we got a decent deal on the new truck, and are enjoying it so far. However, my disappointment is in how we were treated with regard to our trade-in. First, we drove our trade-in vehicle over an hour to the shop (after calling ahead and discussing possible trade in value and all details about the truck beforehand). We assumed we would get at least $3k on trade-in for the truck. We knew we could get more selling privately, but it was not worth the hassle of that to us. After looking and selecting the vehicle we wanted to purchase (and going through the financial paperwork) they finally had the "service manager" inspect the trade-in. He came back and told the "financial manager" that the truck would not go over 20 mph... after we were driving 70+ mph to get to the dealership. My husband asked for the service manager to show him what he was meaning, because obviously this was not what was happening on the way down. They took a test drive together and (GASP!) suddenly the truck could in fact go the intended speed. It is an older diesel, and there is a gap in the uptake manifold which is causing it to pick up a little slower than it would otherwise. This was all explained BEFORE we drove an hour and went through the process of looking at the vehicles on the lot. The "financial manager" offered us $1200 for the trade in, which was frankly insulting. However, because no one had even looked at the vehicle for the first 4.5 HOURS we were also feeling some pressure to get back home. The financial manager did eventually negotiate some, and we took the deal just to be done with it and because we had not planned to leave with the trade-in. During negotiation, the financial manger told us MANY times that he would not be putting the truck on his lot, that he would only be able to sell it for salvage, etc. and gave this as the reason for the very lowball offer on the trade-in. We said, come on man, you will have this on the lot next week for $5-6K. No, he said, we will not put it on our lot... Well look what we have on the lot today... our old truck with a $3000 (272%) markup! https://www.midwestautostore.com/inventory/used-2003-ford-f-250sd-4wd-4d-crew-cab-1ftnw21p93ec43793/ And nothing at all done to the vehicle. I understand they need to make a profit on resale, and I am totally fine with that. I just prefer not to be lied to and low balled.... and I really prefer not to be at a used car dealership for a total 6 hours when all is said and done.

Joshua, We are so sorry that we really did not want your trade. Based on extreme rust situation, Turbo not operational and being a diesel 6.4L engine which was the worst engine ever made. Vehicle took 2 min plus to accelerate to normal 40/50 miles speed, and all of that was not disclosed! Again, we offered you to take the trade out of the deal as I personally told you we are not interested, but still you insisted and we gave you a number and tried for you. we gave you more that it is worth to us and you accepted! Just for you to understand, we are in business to make money and we are a full blown full service center 300-400 cars employing 30-40 people with high overhead and you like hundreds of others drive here for 1-5hr+ for our best value and selection. GET REAL, business not PERSONAL…
Highway Robbery
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! I went to this dealership for a specific vehicle after calling twice to confirm availability - when I showed up to test drive, the car was not road worthy! Brakes so bad it wasn't even drive-able, after they'd told me twice to come on in... When I got there, they tried to convince me to pay for it up-front and sign a contract for the necessary repairs - couldn't even answer the simple question of whether parts were on-order, or on-site... What a bunch of jokers!!! Who lists a car for sale that can't even be test-driven, when they have the garage right there?!? VERY DISAPPOINTED, would advise that anyone looking for a decent, reliable daily driver avoid this place like the plague. They'll give you the run-around and lie straight to your face - not entirely sure how this place is still in business, highly doubt they're turning any profit with the way they're running things... NOT TO BE TRUSTED, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!

April, we are so sorry about you did not think that car was no safe just because the brakes were rusty. lets chare NOWADAYS reality: car supply short (all over the news) every lot is empty and we have 300+ and we move100-200 units monthly: our service is booked up to 2 months and we are working double shifts but cant keep especially with LABOR SHORTAGES (all over the news). we are prioritizing repair items especially major ones, that is why minor brakes issues are put on a back burner but in return our BIGGEST POINT is that we offer extremely competitive values that will overcome and compensate for minor issues. In short, we are doing our best but the crazy market pricing and labor shortages are just not making the perfect car story for the best value very achievable. FYI, every car is inspected and major issues as well as minor issues are all disclosed. Search the market for yourself and keep in mind you cant expect a perfect new car (especially nowadays) for a bargain price! brakes are $300 but your are saving close to $2000

Linda, I am sorry that our pricing has changed. We are a bottom line store that move hundreds of cars monthly and if additional service items become an issue, typically we have to decide if we can absorb in current price or need to change. In this situation, we had to do additional service items that were not present when car arrived and priced and we offered the lower price option without repairs or updated price with repairs. Th price change still heavily discounted and reflect such repairs at half to what you expect to pay
Terrible!
Terrible!!! Sold me a car, started leaking oil once I discovered there was no oil in it and I put some in it. Engine light came on 4 days later after purchasing it. This dealership is a joke.

Danielle, we are sorry that you think we are a joke. You purchased the 15 years old /over 100K miles car AS-IS and you inspected the car for 3-4 hours. Couple of days after the purchase, you had a major oil leak from oil filter housing as well as O2 sensor. We got you in and took care of such issues no questions asked! Our goodwill covered the issues on 15 years old vehicle/over 100K, but you were so angry with us and instead of appreciating the effort, you were so mad at every person who tried to help. We cant control the world or future car breakdown, but we can try to make an effort and maintain a respectful relationship with our customers. WE DONT BELIEVE THAT IS A JOKE
After calling about a Honda Accord this dealership had
After calling about a Honda Accord this dealership had advertised we decided to drive from redbay Alabama a 7 hour drive. The salesman seemed like he could care less about a sale! The pictures of the car were taken in such a way as to not show rips in the leather seats and a falling down headliner. Car had been hit in the rear ended but had been fixed but had clear water damage in the trunk. Front right bumper was loose. Had a knock on startup a surge when you drove it and brakes on the sounders! Thay don’t even safety inspect their cars. A 2009 Honda with over 100000 miles on it for the low price of 10 grand. Offered 8500 the so called salesman said after all that was wrong with it Thay don’t negotiate the price! Thanks for wasting a 500 mile trip for nothing! So we went to another dealer and bought a deautiful 2013 Honda Accord for 15k somewhere else! Buyers beware this place is the worst! Signed the Marshall family from red bay Alabama

We understand the frustration, but please understand when a vehicle is priced accordingly and pictures are showing issues (unfortunately, most consumers don't often pay attentions to all details displayed), we have no room to negotiate. The vehicle that you looked at would normally sell for 12K and we priced 2K due to headliner sagging (shown in pictures). This market is so crazy high and cars are short and we really have no margins especially in such cars
Worst dealership around
Their Warrantys are a joke. Bought my truck last year and its cost me $6000 already out of pocket to fix. The main concern is everytime I bring it in for an issue they fix something that isn't the issue and charge me thousands to fix. They are crooks and I'd steer clear.

Johnny Lee call me several time to keep me updated on the VW. Johnny set up the test drive the VW. Johnny did a great job with getting everything done while at the dealer. Johnny ask if I had any questions on the car. Had a great experience with Johnny and staff at the dealer. Late that day I drove the VW home 250 miles
