Honest

Although I couldn’t quite find the car I set out for, working with Johnny Lee was fantastic. Low pressure, honest and had a pretty sound idea of what I was looking for and trying to accomplish. I’ll definitely be back.

What to expect from Midwest Auto Sales:

Pros: They are willing to sell you cars. They have an onsite shop Interior of the building is nice and welcoming They have a restaurant Cons: I have never had a more negative experience with another human being in my entire life. And I have never had a poor experience in my life working with someone (other than somebody made an honest mistake) They prey on the ignorant Get screamed at by the financial manager (Name: MJ) Get lied to by the paperwork filer Get lied to by the car salesman Charged 11% tax when sales tax is 6% Skipped story due to 4000 character limit Reflection after the fact: 1. Salesman basically claimed to not know company policy regarding outside financing 2. Salesman played nice guy as he did not do any negotiation. It was all left on the finance manager 3. Finance manager acted very nice when trying to sell warranty and provide "IOU" on the car. Later screams at me without having an adult conversation. 4. Find out later the car's windshield wiper fluid reservoir had a leak 5. Salesman claims that the shop inspected the car ahead of time, but could not provide any proof, because the shop was closed. But, I realize that he would have to have available proof if he knew these things ONLY AFTER I mentioned the problems to him. Also, the shop is owned by the dealership. Their records should be readily available considering they tout their awesome website is why they charge a $600 fee. 6. Paperwork filer actually just shook her head as a signal to the finance manager when she claimed she was going to ask about waiving the $600 fee. I was informed by another person in the dealership. Straight up lied to me. 7. There are several cameras in the dealership. Along with phones that can go on speaker. The finance manager sits in a higher up box tucked and hidden with screens on the inside. 8. Finance manager accused me asking too much. So, I looked up how and noticed that the dealer used several disrespectful negotiating tactics on me. - 1. Wasting time (making the buyer impatient and tired) - 2. Quickly going through paperwork - 3. Withholding any information on the fees until the very end - 4. Lying (verbal lies do not mean anything in court) - 5. Use good guy, bad guy technique - 6. Use non-verbal signals with each other to profile the buyers - 7. and more than I cannot recall at this time. You can search online for their techniques. They use them and more. - 9. The negative reviews from buyers: The dealer rudely replies to them with a high level of disrespect. - 10. The positive reviews from buyers: Give positive reviews because the salesman are super nice (Johnny, in particular). Again, the salesmen are the "nice guys". Many of the positive review buyers appeared to be fine with being played. One review even gave 5 stars because Johnny convinced them to spend $16,000 instead of $8,000. Not a promising review. - 11. The amount of $ in tax was 11% when sales tax is 6%. - 12. Again, I only write this because I have literally never had such a poor experience with another human being in my life and tend to be too forgiving. It's notable and I would never go back, and hope people do not go there. - 13. I have never left a negative review for anything other than this place. I am on my way to leave great reviews for some places that deserve it. - 14. This place is the embodiment of the used car salesman stereotype. - 15. Shop hear if you want to waste money. (Shortened to meet 4000 character limit)

The sales rep I worked with was concise and quick about helping me to find a vehicle to meet my criteria. He also took me straight to the vehicles instead or marching me around and didn't try to up sale me. He also checked in for an after-sale performance review based on my interaction and buyers experience.

Dealer response

Tim, we are so sorry that you missed on the vehicle you wanted. Unfortunately, car market is crazy busy for everyone and we do first come-first serve. If you were coming from out of town, we put a courtesy hold for few hours to make sure that we did not waste people time. No call before you show and reality is it was sold. We apologize, but NOT OUR FAULT
