Think Twice
I would strongly suggest that anyone looking to buy a new or used car from Gill Automotive Group in Madera, CA think twice about that decision. Nat Larsen and his sales staff are the most unprofessional and unethical sales people I have ever dealt with. Jason had no problem sitting across from me and told me a bold face lie. Nat and Jason fortified the negative reputation that car sales people have had for years and continue to be labeled accordingly. I guess the old adage, "if the shoe fits wear it", really does apply. I only wish I hadn't bought the car from this dealership. Shame on me. First and last purchase fro Gill Auto Group.

Very good experience
Bought a new Ram 1500 Tradesman last weekend from them and it was a very good experience overall. The salesman, Jim Hamby, was top notch, not a bit of pressure, easygoing, and efficient. They had the best price I could find within the region, and worked to set up the financing exactly as we wanted. None of the silly games that we've endured at other dealers over the years of "I need to go speak to my manager", "Here's a special price from the manager", "Give us ______amount more and we will get you a better price/rate/____". My only complaint would be that they were very busy that day and so the process was slow.

Greatest Car Buying Experience Ever! Pro-Military!
Car shopping had been a horrible experience until we went to Gill Jeep dealer in Madera. None of the valley salesmen I spoke with in Clovis, Fresno or Selma, wanted to deal with a "woman". We were welcomed yesterday by Jim Hamby whom I had been corresponding with via email. He is the internet sales Manager at Gill. Jim took care of us, gave us every possible rebate he could find. We had secured our financing through USAA but Jim thought it would be worth a shot to run our credit to see if we could get a better interest rate with one of the hundreds of banks they do business with and what do you know... a credit union gave us a better interest rate an entire (1.75%) difference! This dealer is also pro-military and offered us a generous military discount. Jim also walked us over to their service department where we were congratulated on our purchase and a nice handshake along with a "we're here for you any time you need us". The experience was the best thanks to Jim Hamby! This dealer has earned our lifelong business.

customer service above and beyond
Last weekend I attended the POCC car show. I came from out of town, and the weather the day before the show was pretty stormy. Amer went above and beyond to help. I came to Madera a day early to avoid the bad weather, and Amer kept my car safe and dry at the dealership. Everyone was so nice to visit with at the bbq that Gill's hosted for the show attendees. They even met me there early in the morning so I coulld pick up my car for the show. Chris even came out to the show! I saw a picture of a car he restored, and hopefully he will enter it next year. He truly loves cars, and thats the kind of person you want to deal with when going to a dealership. I can't thank everyone enough !

We had a great experience with the General manager Nate...
We had a great experience with the General manager Nate and Joe Aguilar. We would recommend working with these two at any time, they worked very hard to get us into our new Dodge mega cab 3500. However our experience with Jason Rummelt was less then pleasant, Jason had little knowledge of the truck that we purchased. When we went to pick the truck up he had left and we were left dealing with Joe Aguilar. We picked up our truck without being detailed and had to reschedule the time for it to be detailed and when we called to bring the truck in, it seemed that he had no time for us nor wanted to fulfill their promise to detail the truck. The only reason for the low rating on customer service was our experience with Jason Rummelt.

Over all, a typical dealership. Negotiations with Jim were fairly simple and not long. He emailed me a price on the used car which I thought was fair. Was able to get him to raise trade-in value for my vehicle in a few moments. But I would say the time spent in the dealership took longer than needed. I wanted to get lunch as I was hungry and he directed me to a close by restaurant but he had me take the vehicle I was buying. He could have just gave me the keys to my trade-in and let me take that to lunch while they detailed the vehicle I was going to purchase. When I got back from lunch they took the vehicle for detailing. Then I waited a long time to see the finance person. Much longer than it should have been. When she gave me the contract to sign, I noted a item list as "Theft Deterrent" for about $300 included in the contract. I questioned this and was told they automatically include it in every vehicle they sell and she has never seen it eliminated from any contract. On the contract it clearly stated optional. She called Jim in and he went to the manager and said he got approval to eliminate the charge. The contract then had to be reprinted. I clearly felt they had tried to slip this passed me and didn't appreciate it. The final thing that really disappointed me was the fact that after all the paper work was done and Jim took me to the vehicle to send me off, was that he handed me only one key. I asked for a second key and he said there was only the one and no owners manual. That was not the time to tell me that. He should have been upfront about that and should have offered to get me a second key free. I had to go to my local dealership and pay $260.00 for the key.

You have a friendly staff. I was taken through the purchasing process of a used car as painlessly as possible. It seem like Joe was looking out for me, when offering the best deals that I could afford. I am grateful that you have staff-members like Joe ( who is looking out for customers like myself).

Jim Hamby was fantastic. No pressure, very professional, and very knowledgeable. He never acted like the sleazy salesman you get at other dealerships. In fact, we did much of the conversing through email and texts. By time we made the drive to Gill Auto Dealership, he had our trucked washed and ready for a test drive. Our financing was already waiting and it was just a smooth and painless transaction. I would say without hesitation....drive to Madera-deal with Jim- he will do a great job. We were totally satisfied with our overall experience!
