crappy dealership!

This dealership was my worst experience! Online their price may seem “cheap” but no where is mentioned there is an additional $1000 dealer fee!! Plus other xxxxxxxx fees! Got there guess what? Car was sold! Then the salesperson MOE, extremely pushy and never answer any question you may have about the car but just pushes you to buy another car, never answer calls! Glad i didn’t buy from here! Guess when you finally buy the car they just block your number so you never sble to call them, and of course they dont care. Don’t recommend this dealer!

Worst Experience Ever!

I have been buying cars for many years but this place is the worst place I had visited. I called one of their sale representative Anthony on Friday, asked for a specific car and told him I will travel from Chicago on the next Monday to buy that car. He told me the car is available and welcome me to check it out. Then I booked my flight and fly to their location in D.C. on the scheduled Monday. But they told me the car was sold! Several other cars I am interested were also sold. As the result, I wasted $600 + $400 airline tickets and a full day. They should at least notify me because I clearly explained it to Anthony that I will buy the car on Monday and he told me it’s available. On a second note, the guy sitting in the middle table is terribly rude. Showed no respect. And questioned my ability of affording the car (despite the fact I already own several luxury/exotic cars and have a >750 perfect credit score). He refused to show me the car before I gave him my SSN and other info. That’s unacceptable. No one is going to risk a hard pull in their credit history before actually seeing the car and deciding buying the car. I politely explained it to this guy sitting in the middle seat. But he showed no manner at all and insisted on me applying for financial first. Quote from him : “ I have to know who am I dealing with before showing the car.” Like the fact that I fly all the way from Chicago to see the car isn’t showing enough interests. The older guys are very polite. Apologies for the misinformation.(Still not acceptable, because it cost me $1000 in airfares. But at least they know some manners). But just the guy sitting in the middle table was unacceptable rude. I will never spend my $100k to someone showed that level of rude. If I am the owner or manager at this place, I will get him fired at no time. Also, they charge a crazy $1800 dealer fee. Be aware of that! Don’t waste your time visiting the place.

I was referred to Merlex Auto Group by a close friend who recently bought a car. She told me that it was possible that the car I wanted (Audi A8) would be there. I called the dealership and set an appointment with Anthony. He was authentic and gave me all the information I needed. There was a family feel in the dealership and made things a lot smoother. The process itself was clean cut and to the point. Walter was as kind as the last guy I spoke to. I left with the car I wanted and I would totally recommend this to my friends and family.

Not as advertised, huge hidden fees.

Found what I though would be the car for us, called to verify price and availability. I tried to be thorough as it was a 2 hour drive to look at the car. I called before driving down and was told there was a $999 dealer fee. Everything seemed in order and everyone was friendly, however, when the car came on the lot it had a large scuff/dent in the rear passenger door with tons of yellow paint transfer on the silver door that was not disclosed or photographed as well as a large portion of the rear bumper with missing paint. In fact the listing stated "All in all the exterior is in great shape with no rust, dings or dents other than the usual minuscule scuff or two that require close scrutiny to even notice". It was not normal wear. Small scratches and dings are normal wear, this was a scratched patch 12" by 10" that was dented in. On the bumper it was completely missing paint on the corner the size of an index card. Then I am told it is a $200 repair. A) you do not get out of any body shop with anything less than a $500 repair if there is body damage, which yes, there was. B) if it was $200, why was it not fixed BEFORE listing? Just before the test drive I was then informed there is also an $800 "reconditioning fee" on top of the $999 "dealer prep fee". Even though I called before making the 2 hour drive, how convenient to forget. That was the last straw and I walked. Would have preferred to have had everything disclosed before I wasted half my day. Typical bait and switch tactic.
