I have decided to write a review since the service that I have received from McGrath Honda in St. Charles was impeccable. The place is very easy to drive to and the people are very friendly and very professional. Since the first moment I stepped in to the show room I was being helped. During the whole process, I had a pleasure to be helped by Dave Kolinen and his manager, Akira Shibata. Both gentlemen were vey professional, vey knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I was never rushed, could ask al the questions and all was explained to me. If you are in the process of looking for a car, I would highly recommend McGrath Honda in St. Charles and Dave! He is extremely personable, polite and professional. Dave provided an exceptional service and he went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information needed. He is excellent! This is the most shady and dishonest dealer I have ever worked with. They hide charges in your sales contract and rush you through signing. You have to review it very carefully before signing. I’m still trying to get a refund on some hidden charges from a car I bought 5 months ago. The finance person Nelly doesn’t respond to email or return phone messages. Save your time and go someplace else!

These people play more games than any dealer I've ever experienced. Their way of doing business sets a new low. I would avoid them at all costs. They lie straight to your face and then try to tuck in thousands of extra costs and try to get you to sign without a chance to read the paperwork.

------ First they told me my bank loan prequal wasn't good...it was only "best case scenario". They could give me a "good deal" with another bank at a slightly higher rate. Called my bank up and the dealership never went with my prequal app, they submitted a whole new separate loan app with different info so they could trick me into a higher rate with their bank. So they lied about that. ------ Then AFTER I had purchased the vehicle, they said it only came with one key. "Used cars usually only come with one key" they told me. I could always purchase a new key for a few hundred dollars. I had just purchased a Honda certified vehicle from a large dealership, not some beater car from some guy on Craigslist. I made a stink and then the sales guy goes around the corner and only a minute later, no joke, comes back with the second key with the dealer car ID tag, same as the first key. They had the second key the entire time and were probably going to try and sell it back to me. ------ There were other numbers games, high fees and sales stuff you could expect from going to a dealership but the above two points were pretty egregious and ruined the entire buying experience.
