This is our fourth and best Explorer

Having read some of the negative reviews about the revised 2020 explorer we decided to test drive one and decided that as usual you can't believe the reviews. We purchased a 2020 XLT with the 2.3 4 cylinder and are impressed with the comfort, performance and fuel economy of this vehicle.

Best Explorer Yet

This is by far the best Explorer yet . I do 3 year leases from Lucas Ford in Southold . It has allot more TQ then the previous generation and my fuel economy is awesome. There is allot more interior space also . I took it down the beach in sand mode and it handled perfectly . Love it !!

Not impressed

I've owned my 2020 Explorer Limited for a couple of months now. I honestly want to love the car, but I don't and I wish I hadn't bought it. First of all, I do not feel the 4 cylinder turbo engine has enough power when it comes to accelerating from a full stop. It feels like it is working hard to accelerate and it's really loud. I came from a QX80 with a V8 and although that car is huge, the acceleration was quick and quiet. The Explorer should have come standard with a V6 engine- period. For a 52k car, I am highly disappointed with it's performance. The car feels jumpy and eager at times, and not in a good way. I can definitely feel the car shifting gears as I accelerate and I can feel a strong enough downshifting as I slow down that I wouldn't expect from a car at this price range. The interior is okay- nothing overly impressive. One of my biggest complaints is the noise coming from the rear doors. It's a crinkling kind of sound- it honestly sounds like the plastic in the doors is loose or the temperature changes creates an expanding/contracting situation. I brought it to the dealer and of course they claim not to reproduce the sounds. It's VERY annoying and honestly, it makes me think the car is very cheaply made. I made a mistake purchasing this car and now I want something different but I would lose money. My suggestion: rent one through a car rental agency and drive it for a week and see how you like it. I wish I had done that before purchasing.

2020 Explorer ST

I love this car! I was driving a Landrover and this has everything without the price tag, and a more comfortable 3rd row for my passengers. Once I put it in Sport mode I was immediately blown away with the power. All I can say is Wow. The massaging seats, power 3rd row seating, sunroof, leather stitching are some of my favorite features. The stop n go feature is also noteworthy and amazing. I oddly look forward to rush hour traffic so I can use it (for now). The 360 view is a nice touch too. I was a little offput by the large 11 inch tablet at first but now I'm used to it and its easier to use than the small screens in older older vehicles. I guess I can say that I'm in love with my car.

I LOVE the Explorer

I’ve owned 4 Explorer’s off and on before this one. The redesign of the 2020 and improved fuel efficiency has led me back to my favorite vehicle to drive.

Great SUV!

I've always purchased Ford products. Very quiet ride, super comfortable and roomy front seats. I purchased the XLT with Comfort Package (heated seats, steering, de-icer). 360 Driver Assist is standard. Even without thousands in extras this Explorer meets all my needs.

First time new Ford owner

I went from a 2002 Kia Rio, 1999 Honda Civic(Japan), 2003 VW Jetta Wolfsburg edition, 2013 Kia Sorento, and finally had a 2015 Kia Sorento before my current 2020 Ford Explorer. It has more room than all the other cars/SUVs I have owned before. I've driven this vehicle in slippery/snow conditions with ease. So far average MPG is resting at 23. Sound is awesome inside. The screen is not so big it's cumbersome to see over. My wife who drives a 2015 Honda Odyssey loves it. The third row we tried out gives good leg room for myself 5'11" with a few inches before the knees touch the second row. The Blue is eye catching. The rims are just "silver" in color. It would be more eye catching. The many, many features of this vehicle is nice. So far the best vehicle I have owned and I've went through a lot.
