One fine Automobile

My 2010 Ford Fusion seems to me to be a highly sophisticated vehicle. It has a backup camera with excellent clairity, a Microsoft SYNC system, a "blind spot information system"which lets you know when another car is passing you and is in your 'blind spot". Of course, heated wleaher seats and alloy wheels do a lot to make the car exceptional, as does the "tuxedo black" color.

ford fusion sel

Great car for the price. It was a replacement for a Ford Focus that was totalled in a head on collision. The SEL has lots of features, nice finish. The downside is the engine, The 4 cyl is a little underpowered for the car, however careful driving averages around 30 in town and 36 plus on the freeway, which is really better than the 2001 focus. Also, care must be taken re. the front bumper dam which easily damaged in angle parking where there are higher curbs..

From '99 Accord

I came from a '99 Accord to this car. You will read reviews about "been an honda guy my entire life...." and stuff like that, well that was me. I got the S model in a 6 speed manual. This car is great! I have been driving it for about 3 months and I have few complaints. Pros: Response is great! Grip is going to depend on your tires. I like the sharp looking allow wheel on the S option more than the SE steel option. The road noise is significantly REDUCED in this car. Seriously, I had to learn how to feel the RPMs in the clutch vs the sound of the engine for a bit. It was misleading. The ride is much more comfortable. The standard packages of traction control, ABS, and yaw control are great! The car has great pick up and red lines at 7500 (pretty good for a 4 cylinder). The trunk is very spacious. The backseat has a great degree of comfort even after 5 hours of sitting there. If you are one that likes to coast to feel better about your gas millage, this thing coasts FOREVER. The 6 speed manual gearing is great and the shifting is very seamless. It glides in and out of the gears. 2nd gear took a bit to get used to, but that just getting used to it. Great on gas! 35 highway. Avg = 28 CONS: Little things, I wish the arm rest in the back seat had access to the truck. The entire backseat does come down in 1/3 and 2/3 sections. I just wanted an option where it could be a small access point. The fuel cap is by far my biggest complaint. It has this "no-cap" system where there are two spring flaps that have to be pushed outward to release the metal door into the tank. One - it makes putting fuel injector fluid in a much more difficult task. Two - I like putting a locking cap on my gas with it being over $4 a gallon. The last con is I could use a little more space in front of the shifter, but oh well. Other thoughts: This vehicle is more heavy (at least it feels like) than the Accord. I was looking at Accord, Mazda6's, and Fusions. For the price range I was looking, it was among 2008 Accord, 2010 Fusion or 2010 Mazda6. The Mazda6 has a smaller backseat area and lower roof. The Accord didn't have a 6 speed manual (5 speed) and they have braking and handling issues. Fusion retains it's value very well for a good reason.

Great Value

Very pleased with this purchase! 4 cylinder is adequate in terms of performance - easonable sacrifice for increased gas mileage.

Nice Car Confusing Dash

This is an excellent car, looks good, handles well. I spend a great deal of time on the road as a company rep, and this car handles and drives well. My big complaint is trying to find the right button to push to adjust the temperature, the radio, and interior lighting. The controls all feel the same, and unless you can stop and actually look, it's impossible to find the right button. Contrasting knobs and switches would work much better.

Probably the best ride for the money.

I have owned this car for one year. The transmission seemed to have a mind of it's own when I first drove it. A Ford Tech."re calibrated" it and the transmission has seemed to learn my driving habits. I get about 30 mpg @ 65 mph. Drops off fast at speeds faster then this. City driving in warm weather is about 18 to 22. The car is very quite, spirited and pleasing to drive. I have the 3.0V6. Be sure and drive one before you purchase anything.

6SPD AUTO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS

Beware!!! A simple internet search will reveal tons of problems with the 6F35 auto trans in the 2010 Fusion and Escape. My car is experiencing problems with frequent shift flaring, which will then be followed by a hard shift and forward jolt. This jolt caused me to hit another car in front of me thus damaging my chrome grille. The car will also shift into neutral by itself at times creating a dead spot in acceleration. After software reprograms, new valve body, and complete overhaul including new clutches, my car now drives significantly worse. The trans now struggles and is very sloppy overall. Now, my transaxle shaft seal is leaking fluid and clutch material has been found in the fluid.

Lot for the money

Have owned a 6 cylinder 2010 Ford Fusion for 2 months. I am very happy with it so far. It runs great, has all the bells and whistles. Can't believe the pep that this car has. Only negative is that you feel the bumps on en uneven road. My 2 boys are grown. They say that there is plenty of room in the back. Love the sound system. The lighted cup holders are impressive. Trunk is roomy-holds 4 sets of golf clubs. So far-so good!

Just bought used 2010 SEL

Very impressed from the first drive, this car is not the "appliances" that Camrys and Accords are. It enitces you to push it a little and drive it instead of it driving you. The SYNC System is INCREDIBLE. Adult Bike fits in trunk with 1 seat down. Incredibly quiet inside, even when lighting up the tires.

Ford Fusion

Great car, well built, only american made (mexico) car to make the ten cars you auto mechanic does not want you to buy. Only issue I have is it is difficult to see while backing up. Got the reverse warning system which helps.
