What Is the 2021 Hyundai Venue?

All-new last year, the five-seat Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV is long on features and value-priced. Powered by a 121-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a continuously variable automatic transmission, the Venue is available only with front-wheel drive. Competitors include the Nissan Kicks and Toyota C-HR

What’s New on the 2021 Hyundai Venue?

The base SE trim level gets 15-inch alloy wheels, while the SEL trim adds blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, a sliding armrest and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. A six-speed manual transmission is no longer available; all trims have a CVT.

What Features in the 2021 Hyundai Venue Are Most Important?

  • Standard active safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a driver attention monitor and automatic high-beam headlights
  • 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Power moonroof available

Should I Buy the 2021 Hyundai Venue?

Urban dwellers and others who prefer a vehicle that’s easy to maneuver and park would do well to consider the Venue. Two-tone paint options offer a bit of style, there’s room for adults in front and back (at least for short trips) and the Venue includes a lot of safety and convenience features for the money. Value is a big part of the Venue’s appeal, and it won our Best Value of 2021 award.

  • I purchased my 2021 Venue from Enterprise Car sales in

I purchased my 2021 Venue from Enterprise Car sales in Newark, DE. Maybe other people have had issues with their Venue, but as far as I'm concerned it was a great choice. The lack of a center arm rest certainly sucks, but getting 40mpg definitely makes up for the shortcoming. It has a smooth ride, it's quiet overall, and has a nice entertainment system. For just under 19k I thought it was an excellent buy, and am quite happy with it.

  • Excellent car!

Hyundai Venue Denim limited is just about perfect. Only change I would make would be to add a backup sensor that beeps and move the radio and a/c knobs closer to the driver. Other that that it’s terrific!!

  • Don't buy a Hyundai

Recall after recall. Electronic problems. Battery problems. Tire problems. Taillight issues repeatedly. Not comfortable. Ac/heater not very strong. Worst vehicle I've owned. Can't wait to trade it in.

  • Great option

Shocking amenities for $24K. All the reviewers say it’s slow, and it’s definitely not fast by any stretch. However if you keep it in the “sport” mode it is more than adequate, even on the HWY. Reall no complaints with the new smartstream engine and transmission. The best part of this (for me) is the exterior styling. It looks like a baby version of the Pallisade, esp in darker colors. I love that you get a sunroof, heated seats and steering wheel plus all safety features for 24K$ the only thing I don’t love is the amount of hard touch plastics, though it is tastefully executed. The front seat could also have better lumbar, otherwise this car is a winner.

  • Would have been 100% except for headlight issue

I love my venue! However I just found out that when you have a headlight out you have to take it to a dealer you can’t just do it yourself! And it wouldn’t be so bad if they had the part in stock which they don’t. Not one dealer in San Diego had the part in stock! And of course my headlight went out on the weekend. So it takes 3 to 5 days for me to get a headlight fixed. Every other car I’ve owned I fix the headlight myself. I’m risking getting pulled over by driving at night with one headlight. You’re not supposed to it’s illegal; that’s why you get a ticket. And the hassle of getting pulled over who wants that? Another question is why did the head like go out after eight months? I’ve had cars for four years that I never had to replace the headlight. Good thing is it’s covered under warranty, and that is the only good thing about the headlight on the Hyundai venue. I don’t know when The warranty is over for the headlight, I think she told me it was three years or 36,000 miles. Good thing it happened now. But still I like to know why did my headlight go out after eight months? I’d like someone to answer that question. Does anybody know? Even if I had my lights on night and day for eight months it shouldn’t have gone out!

  • Finally, your money's worth.

Own a 2021. The car is perfect for its niche. Great around town and in secondary roads. Interstate - well, it keeps up with traffic. On secondary roads I routinely average 39-41 MPG @ 65mph. Its a good car for the times. I take several 5 hour trips to Tampa a year. And it always performs well. Just a bit more grunt would be good. But then, I didn't buy a PORSCHE.

  • Living my new car!

I needed a car that was not to close to the road or not to high that we had to climb into it. My mom has a broken hip so the purchase needed to fit her as well as our budget. The Venue is exactly perfect for all our needs.

  • Great compact SUV

I love the Venue! It’s a small SUV good for 1 or 2 people. Rides nice. Front wheel Drive. Front and rear camera. Lane assistant. Let’s you know when a car moves in front of you if you are sitting at a red light and not paying attention. This Venue will not be for everyone. I really like mine. Great gas mileage.

  • A great value for the money

We needed a second car in addition to our excellent 2020 Palisade. We purchased a Denim edition Venue. The car is quirky, with a great look and interior. I love its uniqueness and personality. I wouldn't mind a few more horsepower, but performance on a day to day basis is certainly adequate for an economical car. Overall, the Venue Denim is the best value on the road in the entry level car market.
