Great Family Car

I purchased the 2019 Toyota Highlander in late December 2019. The car is absolutely awesome. It is a great family car. Took the Highlander on a 360 mile trip 2 weeks ago and I got over 30MPG! It is one of the most comfortable cars I have owned. The 3rd row seats are for children only though, not much leg room. 2nd row has all the room needed for adults. If you are looking for a roomy SUV, be sure to look at the Highlander.

Reliable vehicle

Happy knowing I don’t have to worry on the road or having worry about the service. I just have to take it in when needed and they check it.

Failure of the little things

I owed my first Highlander for 17 years, very reliable. I bought the 2019 Highlander in Feb 2019 and have had a problem with the radio for the past 8 weeks. The radio/ navigation system intermittently blanks out every couple of minutes. The bumper to bumper warrantee "covers" the repair, but they have not fixed it. The dealer says its a problem with the radio that needs replacing and is on backorder. It has been on backorder for 8 weeks. In the meantime, every time I drive, the radio blacks out. First world problem, sure. But this is a $40,000+ vehicle that is supposed to be reliable. Its not.

Love My platinum highlander with 3 receptions

Love everything except 3 things! (1) Nav. Sys. for 2019 AWD Platinum has a detect. No voice when set location to navigate. Must load destination first, then restart engine to get voice. Toyota aware & is working on it! Really!!!! Ha! (2) Highlights will not let me control manually; tried turning off auto, keeps defaulting . (3). Dash Screen display controls: Needs immediate access touch button to dim or brighten display screen - just like a volume button! One can adjust in settings, but display screen goes dark in shaded areas or cloud cover when running headlights during day (which we use traveling on two lane rural roads & freeway travel). A simple touch knob would solve problem instantly! Other than that the above, the car is perfect! Great gas milage in the 2019 6 cylinder AWD 26-28 mpg going cross country 70-75 mph ave speed.

Very great ride!

The 2019 highlander is a very smooth ride with a lot of great features. I like the good amount of space inside and how it does not use as much gas as I thought.

Love the care

The Highlander is a great vehicle. I had compared to the Pilot, Pathfinder and found this to be the most dependable and comfortable of the three. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Position of gas/brake pedals causes major leg pain

The Position of the gas and brake pedals In the 2019 Toyota Highlander is terrible. If you drive the car for an extended period of time you get dead leg and major leg pain.

Transmission issues

8 speed transmission has issues, when slowing down below 10 mph and the accelerating transmission jumps, lurches and hesitates. Toyota is aware of issue. Will be taking it in. They had a class action suit on the RAV4 8 speed transmissions with same issue. Would not buy one until they resolve issue.
