Vehicle Overview

What it is: Volvo surprised some in the auto industry and thrilled many wagon enthusiasts when it introduced the V60 wagon as a 2015 model, injecting new life into what had been a dying market segment. The V60 is based on the S60 sedan, seats five and has a 40/20/40-split rear seat designed for easy folding. Competitors include the Audi Allroad, BMW 3 Series wagon and Subaru Outback. Volvo also sells a quasi-SUV version of the V60 dubbed Cross Country.

(Skip to details on the V60 Cross Country)
New for 2017
Volvo has simplified the V60’s engine lineup, reducing the number of available engines to two.
Significant Standard Features

  • 240-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine
  • Eight-speed automatic transmission
  • Front-wheel drive
  • Heated side mirrors
  • LED daytime running lights
  • Power moonroof
  • Power front seats
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Cruise control
  • Multimedia system with 7-inch dashboard screen
  • Bluetooth streaming audio

  • Required in every new car: front airbags, antilock brakes and an electronic stability system

Significant Available Features

  • 302-hp, supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder
  • All-wheel drive
  • Leather upholstery
  • Automated parking system
  • Heated windshield

V60 Cross Country
With the V60 Cross Country, Volvo applies a long-standing tactic it’s used to dress up wagons to look like SUVs. It features cues common to utility vehicles such as a raised suspension, skid plates and standard all-wheel drive, which help make it suitable for light off-road use.
What’s Special

  • 240-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine
  • Eight-speed automatic transmission
  • 7.9 inches of ground clearance
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Black fender extensions

  • great style

I bought the car used from a non-Volvo dealer. I have not been driving much due to the pandemic, but a couple of computer glitches have arisen. I took the car into a Volvo dealer for service on the issue, thank goodness the car is still under warranty. The problem with the auto start-stop feature wasn't working, it was "fixed" but the problem has reoccurred intermittently. And now the side mirrors are not retracting upon shutdown... that isn't good.

  • this is a dream to drive

I love the look, the comfort, the drive and performance of this Volvo wagon. It is luxurious, I love the visibility and safety features. The side warning lights have already in backing out of a parking space. Two thumbs up.

  • Fast, fuel efficient, comfortable, and reliable.

This has been an excellent rep car. Other than a $60 oil line that began to weep, service has been oil changes, tires, alignments, and brakes. Not bad for a European car with almost 100,000 miles.

  • handles great. performance tires a bit hard.

dash and electronics are great. driver assist tech saved my life the other day as I returned from Europe and hadn't slept for 24 hours. The car shakes the steering wheel if you're not staying in the lane. Then, tells you to pull over and get some coffee. A smidge too much reliant on the turbo. Not big on the turbo delay thing. It is what it is.

  • Don’t follow the herd

This car provides a great ride, it has a powerful engine yet gives great mileage. Volvo makes the best most comfortable seats in the planet, the Scandinavian deign is beautiful and uncluttered. The car may be three years old but it still makes people turn their heads when I drive by.

  • Sporty wagon. Practical and fast.

Good looking vehicle. Handles well, loads of AWD power. Everything but a cork screw included. Room to haul your stuff without handling like a top heavy, gas hungry SUV.

  • Volvo For Life

This is my third Volvo and the eight in my family since 1968. The V60 is the perfect size in traffic and parking lots. The seats are the best in the biz. The car handles well and is a pleasure to drive in town or on the highway. I have had other cars but have always returned to Volvo when I have strayed. They go for years and miles and are safe most importantly.

  • Best Car I've Owned

The only things that would've made this car better would be 1) Manual Transition and 2) Touch Screen for Browing/Climate/etc. I loved driving it - acceleration, handling, etc.
