Vehicle Overview

Cadillac’s midsize sport sedan, the STS, features a powerful V-6 and a variety of high-tech safety options. The STS competes with the BMW 5 Series, Lincoln MKS and Hyundai Genesis.

New for 2011
The V-8 has been dropped, and the STS gets free standard scheduled oil changes, tire rotations, replacement of engine and cabin air filters, and multipoint vehicle inspection for four years or 50,000 miles through Cadillac’s Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance program.

Exterior
The STS’ bumper is prominent, and its grille is dominant. Like it or not, you have to admit that the elements are in proportion, from the plunging grille to the stacked headlights and fog lights. The optional Platinum Edition Package adds special badging and 18-inch chrome wheels. Exterior features include:

  • Rocker-panel moldings
  • Small spoiler
  • Chrome door handles
  • Polished-aluminum dual exhaust tips
  • Standard 17-inch alloy wheels, optional 18-inch alloys

Interior
The STS can have optional wood trim; real metal trim accents the steering wheel and dashboard. The Platinum Edition augments the cabin with a leather dashboard and a suedelike ceiling. Interior features include:

  • Optional head-up display projects vehicle speed and other selectable readouts on the windshield
  • Standard eight-speaker Bose stereo
  • Optional 15-speaker, Bose 5.1-channel surround-sound stereo
  • Standard leather seats, dual-zone climate control
  • Optional heated steering wheel
  • Optional heated and ventilated seats

Under the Hood
The STS’ 3.6-liter V-6 has direct injection and produces 302 horsepower and 272 pounds-feet of torque. It uses a six-speed automatic transmission. An optional performance package includes four-piston calipers with larger brake discs, among other tweaks.

Safety
Safety equipment includes:

  • Standard front and side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags
  • Standard antilock brakes, electronic stability system
  • Optional lane departure and blind spot warning systems
  • Optional Intellibeam headlamps that self-adjust their intensity based on oncoming or leading vehicles

  • Solid, Dependable Car

This car has been a pleasure to own for the short while i've driven it. Nothing went wrong, just needed basic maintenance and runs like a dream. Worth a lot more than the listing prices, bargain.

  • A purchase I never regretted

Owned for 6.5 years and very very happy with it. Changed my view and understanding of owning a Caddy... at least until I tried to buy one from Central Cadillac. But that's another story- stay away from Central Cad. Only repairs I had was motor mounts (under warranty) and the battery cable at 95k miles. Sitting at 105k and still going strong.

  • My 3rd one

I have owned a 2005, 2007 and a 2011. I love the xxx. I wish that they updated it and kept it alive. The XTS is NOT a replacement for this. This car is American luxury not German luxury. I test drove an XTS and didn't like it. I said to the salesman this doesn't feel like a Caddy. He said it isn't suppose to. It should feel like a Benz or a BMW. I said to him too bad, if I wanted a Benz or a BMW I would buy one. I want a Caddy and you don't have one. So I didn't buy it. This was the last of what Caddy was famous for. Out with the old and in with the new.

  • Nothing better than a Cadillac!

Except for being a V-6, it's a great car. Next vehicle will be a V-8. Miss my 26 years of owning Eldorados.

  • Second rate luxury car

After many years of owning a Mercedes Benz E class, i decided to have a change, and buy a Cadillac xxx. On first impressions it is quite nice, with lots of 'stuff". After a while the relatively cheap plasticky interior and the endless GM stupidities like DRL defaulting to ON, the constantly appearing lawyer screen on the GPS, the GPS screen that is unreadable if the sunroof is open, and has unintelligible symbols, etc begin to really irritate. My local Cadillac dealer service is just awful. All I can say is that if you are considering this half-baked car, try a Mercedes first.

Great Car Highly Recommend. Cadillac service has been great and the AWD helps a lot in the snow. Car has every bell and whistle you could want or need. If you can get a clean low mileage one don't wait.
