Full of luxury features

We've had the new 2013 Ford Edge Limited AWD for 3 weeks now, and about 300 miles of driving. So far, so good. The luxury features like dual automatic climate control, navigation, large touch screen, panorama roof, blind spot notification, etc. are all new to us and very enjoyable to use. It has lots of power so I expect it to do a great job pulling our boat next Spring. The ride is slightly firm and provides just enough feedback. The 6 speed transmission is smooth. This car is quiet! We can carry on a casual conversation at 70 mph or hear subtle nuances in the terrific audio system. Really like the configurable gauges on either side of the speedometer. However, it has not been glitch free. Ford failed to correctly intialize the Ford Sync system at the factory. So I have to take it back to the dealer to have that done. The audio system re-indexes my music (on a USB drive) from time to time for no reason. And the driver door is slightly out of alignment. These are small niggles in an otherwise very pleasant owner experience so far.

Nice ride, but interior is plastic and cheap

So far my family has really enjoyed this vehicle. The Sync is awesome (unless you have a stuffy nose then then it is still good) and the console is easy to use. The interior lighting color option is a nice extra. The Edge is quiet and the ride has been smooth. The extra BLIS system (Blind Spot Information) has been great, especially at backing out of parking spots. My gas mileage has been around 25-26MPG on the highway, so not great but not terrible. It has good acceleration and a fairly tight turning radius, which I use a lot. The main thing I do not like is how cheap and flimsy the interior is, it is all flexible plastics. There is a panel on the driver side floor area that is just attached to carpet at the bottom and is free standing at the top and is easy to break off by catching on a shoe using the Parking Break. Also the rear wiper is thin and flimsy, it breaks if you even act like you might touch it. Also, while customizable, the console screens for the driver are not really useful. They need tweaked with to view desired information, thus needing more per screen. They are also not easily navigable, hitting the back arrow does not take you back one screen but often makes you start the menus over, which is not a good thing when driving. Overall, I do not miss my VW Passat as much as I

An easy choice

We test drove the Sorento and then immediately after that stopped by the Ford Dealer. We had not driven very far when we realized this car was more car for the money. The V6 power and comfortable ride was evident. At that point our search was for a good deal on an Edge, we made a purchase two days later. So far we are impressed with the gas mileage. The V6 has the torque to keep the car in 6th gear and there is not the constant down shifting we notice in 4 cyl cars.

what I don't enjoy about this car:

I have a Ford EDGE 2013 for the last 3 month , everything look, drive, comfort, performance, Gadgets, reliability are all perfect. JUST... talking to the car is not as easy as they advertize , there is no help or documents about the commands and car most of the times does NOT understand your verbal commands .

Better than expectations

A great car. Very easy handling. Comfortable. Super quiet ride. Turbo 4 cyl engine responsive. Needs a bit more headroom, perhaps the moon roof detracts from headroom.

Coolest Car I've Owned

I just purchased the 2013 Limited AWD with all the bells and whistles possible a few days ago. I previously had a 2010 Edge base model. I must say that I totally love this car. It is by far the coolest car I've ever owned but it does so many things...from the proximity sensors to the sync system to the auto up and down rear door (love that). We also opted for the 20" wheels and I love the feeling of being up a little higher. I find the car comfy and the sync system is top notch. I have only found a couple times where the command we spoke was not recognized. I had a 2007 Acura TSX once upon a time and I remember anything I said to that car it had no idea what I was saying... but the Sync seems to be working well. I love the touch screen and all the different features and gadgets the car has. I am equally tickled at the "ambient light" setting... the car has all these lights from the dashboard, to the doors to the floor... and I'm able to change the color of these lights from purple to blue etc... its overkill and completely useless but I enjoy it all the same. Definately recommend this car. Love the way it handles and drives as well.
