If you read our coverage on Chrysler’s updated 2007 Pacifica, you know Dr. Z has stocked it with extra goodies – standard side curtain airbags, an electronic stability system and, in most versions, a bigger V-6. The automaker announced pricing for the new model today, and it’s about $1,300 less than the current Pacifica. Of course, Chrysler’s Employee Pricing Plus sale knocks off much more than that on the ’06 model, so it’s not the deal it might seem, at least for now.
Here’s a breakdown of prices, including the destination charge, for various front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive Pacificas. Prices adjusted for current incentive deals are listed in italics.
Chrysler says the average value of additional items like side curtain airbags and stability control is around $1,400 per model. But even then, it’s easy to see the upcoming 2007 model can’t compare with the discounted Pacificas available today. We think next year’s Pacifica may still require an incentive or two to nudge it off the lots.
