Every year in Detroit there is a celebration of the car called the Woodward Dream Cruise. The famous Woodward Avenue is turned into a continuous parade of classic cars, the likes of which are rarely seen all in one place. It’s also a good venue for Detroit automakers to debut new models.
Chrysler is using the platform to introduce its 12th special edition PT Cruiser, the 2007 Pacific Coast Highway Edition. The vehicle is basically the same as any regular 2007 PT Cruiser with the base 150 hp engine. It does feature a unique paint color — Ocean Blue — 17-inch platinum-clad wheels, spoiler, PCH badging, and various dress-up features inside and out, including a two-tone interior.
Pricing for the PCH is $20,095 with manual transmission and $20,930 for automatic transmission, not including a $640 destination charge. The slightly higher than normal prices aren’t that atrocious as Chrysler makes the usually optional four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes and traction control standard.
We expect only PT aficionados will be looking for the special edition when it goes on sale later this summer, but for the way it’s optioned, the price is right for the mildly interested Cruiser buyer too.
