The problem: If the electronic power-steering control unit senses a discrepancy in the system’s circuitry, a warning indicator lamp will illuminate on the dash and the power-steering assist will stop working. Steering control can be maintained, but will require greater driver effort, especially at low speeds.
Corrective action: Dealers will update the electronic power-steering control unit software and replace the steering unit if necessary.
Warranty info: This repair is being done free of charge under this special service campaign.
