The problem: A faulty engine oil dipstick may allow engine oil to leak out of the crankcase. If this happens, owners may experience unexpected engine oil consumption, and the yellow warning symbol may illuminate. An “Engine Oil Level Low” message may also display on the dashboard.
Corrective action: The engine oil dipstick will be replaced in affected vehicles. Additionally, an oil ID decal will be affixed to the radiator support, the engine oil level will be topped off and the engine control module software will be updated.
Warranty info: This repair will be covered under the new car limited warranty, certified pre-owned warranty or extended warranty, whichever applies.
