As we get closer to the 2011 Dodge Durango’s late fall launch date, Chrysler is teasing us with the first full interior snapshot. This photo is of the Citadel trim level, which features leather seating in a tan-and-black interior.
The Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee share the same platform and mechanical bits, and the insides look similar as well. Chrysler goes as far as to say that the Durango was designed by the same team responsible for the new Ram pickup trucks lineup and Jeep Grand Cherokee interiors. There’s no doubt of that.
However, Dodge worked to put its own stamp on the Durango to distinguish it from the Grand Cherokee. The Durango shown features a Dodge-specific steering wheel and its own gauge cluster. The biggest difference, though, is the Durango’s three rows to the Jeep’s two.
The Durango will have 22 different seating configurations, so there should be plenty of room for people and cargo.
