Reinventing a long-lived icon is hard to do, but it looks like Volkswagen managed to pull off the right balance with modernizing the 2012 VW Beetle, according to Cars.com editor Mike Hanley. Interior quality is a step up from the previous model, and there’s a large suite of modern, fuel-efficient powertrain options.
