The 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show kicked off this week in Germany as world automakers gathered to showcase their latest, most-advanced offerings. The 65th incarnation of the biennial event opens to the public Saturday following four press and industry days, and runs through Sept. 22. According to the Detroit News, this year’s show — which in 2011 attracted 928,000 visitors — boasts 70 world premieres, including the obligatory envelope-pushing concept cars, but also a remarkable number of battery or hybrid gas-electric vehicles.
