The problem: In affected vehicles, the engine and transmission control module software may cause an irregular engine speed at idle that could lead to an unintentional engine shutdown just before a vehicle stop, such as while coasting toward a stoplight.
Corrective action: Dealers will update the engine and transmission control module software, which will eliminate the condition.
Warranty info: This service bulletin is being performed free of charge under the Mercedes-Benz new-vehicle or extended warranty, whichever applies.
