The Ram 1500 light-duty pickup truck enters its sophomore season this year following its 2013-model-year redesign. It maintains a focus on class-exclusive features like an eight-speed automatic transmission and the available RamBox cargo management system and air suspension. Certain versions seat up to six people. The Ram 1500 competes against the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra. New for 2014 A new turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 engine is available for the Ram 1500. Dubbed EcoDiesel, the V-6 makes 240 horsepower and 420 pounds-feet of torque and teams with a heavy-duty version of the eight-speed automatic transmission that’s offered in gas V-6 trucks.
