Chevrolet revealed the completely redesigned 2016 Camaro coupe earlier this year with its promise of a lighter, all-new chassis and stylish exterior. Today, the company unveiled the convertible version of the muscle car, which has a droptop that can be opened remotely with the key fob.

There are luxury convertibles on the market that can do the same trick but none in this segment. The Camaro convertible’s remote-folding capability is only one of its standout features. We really like the hard tonneau cover that lowers into place when the top is stowed. It’s a high-end look that should be on every convertible.

Chevrolet also touts that the top doesn’t require manual latches or releases to lower or put the top back in place as is the case on the Ford Mustang convertible. The top also can be raised or lowered at speeds up to 30 mph. The company did not say how long it took to open or close the top, however.

The same three engine choices from the coupe will be available on the convertible: a 275-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder; a 335-hp, 3.6-liter V-6; and 455-hp, 6.2-liter V-8. It will be available in LT and SS trims and goes on sale in early 2016. The coupe is planned to go on sale late this year.
