CARS.COM — Toyota’s wedgy hybrid always has had a distinctive style; for 2016 the Prius is redesigned with a striking new look. The 2016 Prius is wider, lower and a couple inches longer than its predecessor; it adopts cues from the automaker’s wildly-styled Mirai fuel-cell car.
In front, angular LED headlights bookend a pencil-thin upper grille. In back, Toyota has taken the design of the Prius’ vertical taillights to extremes with arching lenses that protrude outward in a fanglike stance. A horizontal spoiler connects the taillights and bisects the rear window. The car’s C-pillars have black lower portions, simulating a wraparound rear window and floating roof.
