O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Why, at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, m’lady — Alfa Romeo that is. But it’s not Juliet the Italian automaker hopes you think is to die for, but Giulia. The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia is an exotic rear-wheel-drive sport sedan and is the second model Alfa is bringing to the U.S. after the 4C coupe.
The sedan’s countenance wears the automaker’s Tribolo design, instantly recognizable by its triangular grille flanked by massive horizontal openings near the lower edge of the front end. Carbon fiber inserts adorn the side sills, and a broad character line sweeps across the entire profile, narrowing to a point at the rear door handle, while formidable-looking quad tailpipes catch the eye around back. Cockpit highlights include a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, bolstered suede-wrapped seats, red contrast stitching and abundant carbon fiber flourishes throughout.
