Vehicles Affected: Approximately 680 model-year 2018 Mazda CX-5 SUVs

The Problem: The side curtain airbags may not properly unfold during deployment in the event of a side impact or rollover crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the curtain airbags free of charge.

What Owners Should Do: Mazda will begin notifying owners in July. Owners can call the automaker at 800-222-5500, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
