2026 Aston Martin DBX S Adds Power, Carbon Fiber

Aston Martin dropped the base engine from its DBX SUV for the 2025 model year, trimming the lineup to leave the 697-horsepower DBX707 as the lone configuration. But some buyers need to stand out, and for them, Aston is introducing the DBX S. With more power and more available lightweighting options, the S reestablishes a pecking order in the DBX family.

Performance Updates and Specs
To a point, it’s not hard to squeeze another 20 hp out of a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine like that in the DBX707; apparently, that point lies somewhere around the existing engine’s 697 hp. Rather than just rewrite a few lines of code, Aston Martin swapped in new turbos on the DBX S with larger compressor wheels and “other internal improvements,” bumping peak output to 717 hp and maintaining more power higher in the tach. Torque is unchanged at 664 pounds-feet.
A revised exhaust system gives the DBX S edgier vocals, and the transmission programming is altered to hang onto gears longer and downshift more aggressively. Aston Martin’s claimed 0-62 mph acceleration time for the S is the same 3.3 seconds as it is for the 707, but the brand says the DBX S hits 124 mph 0.3 second sooner. A quicker steering ratio enhances the SUV’s agility.

Cutting Weight
Visual distinctions between the DBX707 and DBX S are, in the latter’s standard trim, subtle. The most obvious difference between them is the S has vertically stacked quad exhaust outlets. However, the S introduces a number of lightweight options that can cut up to 104 pounds from the DBX. An optional carbon-fiber roof panel drops mass by 40 pounds, while rendering the sill panels, rear bumper and exterior trim in carbon cuts another 15 pounds. Available carbon-fiber mirrors and a lightweight polycarbonate grille shave unspecified poundage, while optional magnesium 23-inch wheels are 42 pounds lighter than the standard aluminum 23s. Inside, DBX S seats are treated to a unique herringbone-pattern upholstery in a blend of synthetic suede and leather.
What Is the DBX S’ Release Date?
