A Wagon for Christmas? Audi Unwraps 2020 A6 Allroad

Audi’s 2020 model-year lineup looks like a Christmas wish list for wagon lovers. On the heels of the automaker’s announcement of the RS6 Avant wagon’s return stateside, Audi announced another wagon is rejoining the lineup for 2020: the A6 Allroad.

Audi’s A6 mid-size sedan was redesigned for 2019, and for 2020 both the performance-oriented S6 sedan and Allroad wagon models return. The Allroad uses the A6’s turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, good for 335 horsepower and 369 pounds-feet of torque. It pairs with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, and Audi says the wagon sprints from 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds.
All-wheel drive is standard, as is an adaptive air suspension with six selectable drive modes. Ride height can be raised by up to 1.8 inches to accommodate off-road terrain.
Outside, the wagon rides on 20-inch wheels and wears a wider, Allroad-specific grille with chrome vertical slats, as well as rugged cues like painted Scandium Gray Matte wheel arches and rocker panels, and standard roof rails. A 20th Anniversary Edition Package incorporates additional design cues from the original A6 Allroad, such as an exclusive Gavial Green exterior color option.

Inside, there are seats for five and 30 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, Audi says — up considerably from the sedan’s 13.7 cubic feet. It uses the sedan’s MMI multimedia system with two touchscreens (10.1-inch upper and 8.6-inch lower) and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and the Audi Virtual Cockpit system are standard. Other standards include a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, heated front seats and steering wheel, four-zone climate control and wireless cellphone charging.
The 2020 Audi A6 Allroad will go on sale before the end of the year staring at $66,895 for Premium Plus trims and $71,395 for Prestige models; Premium versions of the sedan with the six-cylinder start much lower at $60,795 (all prices include the destination fee).
