Cadillac’s replacement for the popular SRX is coming this year, according to The Detroit News, and it should debut during the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November. But the SUV will have a different name. Part of Cadillac’s overhauled naming scheme, the SRX will have a name that starts with “XT,” and the newspaper says most experts think it will be XT5.
The current SRX enters its sixth model year for 2015, though Cadillac gave the SUV a substantial refresh for 2013. The Detroit News says GM’s luxury brand will also debut an entry-level car “by the end of the decade.” That would make good on Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen’s desire for a car aimed at younger shoppers, which he voiced on March 31.
