Last week, Detroit TV station WJBK’s news expose uncovered a large group of Chrysler factory employees drinking alcohol and smoking what appeared to be marijuana during one of their shift breaks. Executives from the company were given access to the footage and Chrysler announced the firings of 13 employees and the suspension of two more from the Jefferson North Plant yesterday.
The company reiterated that the assembly line has multiple redundancies when it comes to producing vehicles at the plant in question. Unfortunately, many commenters on KickingTires were still not satisfied with that response. The plant involved builds the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was visited by President Barack Obama earlier in the month to highlight American manufacturing.
