If you thought the window sticker on new cars was confusing before, get ready for one more bit of information to join the current lineup of price, fuel economy and options. Manufacturers will have to list crash-test results from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on stickers by September 2007.

The “Stars on Cars” bill was passed last year and focuses on a top concern for car buyers: safety. New cars and SUVs are included in the bill, but pickups are not. Honda already lists crash information for all its vehicles, while both General Motors and Ford said they would list results on trucks as well as their cars and SUVs.
