No models in Pontiac’s current lineup are particularly treasured to car enthusiasts, nor do they have the name appeal of something like a Corvette. Cars that become investments also have to be hard to find. For instance, even if the Pontiac G8 GT is a cool car, it’s not particularly rare: 12,000 have been produced over the past two years.
The cars that would make a good buy — the GTO, Firebird or Grand Prix — aren’t being produced any longer, but if you have one in your garage the death of Pontiac certainly won’t hurt its cultural cachet.
