Ford Details 2026 Mustang EcoBoost RTR Performance Package

Key Points
- The RTR Package for the 2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost incorporates parts from the Dark Horse and GT trims.
- Exclusive exterior and interior styling tweaks
- Covered by Ford’s factory warranty
It’s been almost a year since Ford showed off the upcoming RTR performance package for the 2026 Mustang EcoBoost, but we finally have a full download of what’s included. The list is long and has our expectations high. Ford’s statement that the EcoBoost RTR Package was designed “to make drifting easier for novices” is a bold endorsement of motorsports behavior to come from a modern automaker.

Raiding the Siblings’ Closets

RTR stands for Ready to Rock, an aftermarket Mustang performance company founded by two-time Formula Drift champion Vaughn Gittin, Jr. RTR has been modifying Mustangs since 2009, but this is the outfit’s first branded effort to be built by Ford using off-the-shelf Mustang parts. The EcoBoost RTR Package takes the Dark Horse’s rear subframe with stiffer bushings, the front and rear anti-roll bars from the optional Handling Pack, and its adjustable strut mounts, which are also stiffer than the stock EcoBoost pieces.
The RTR’s brakes come from the Mustang GT’s optional Performance Package, with rotors measuring 15.3 inches up front and 14 out back, squeezed by six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. Other GT bits on the RTR include its steering rack (which provides additional travel), cooling fan and front bumper.
The regular Mustang EcoBoost’s optional active performance exhaust is standard on the RTR. The RTR also boasts an anti-lag function to keep the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine’s turbocharger spooled for greater responsiveness. Only active in certain drive modes, it holds the throttle open momentarily when the driver lifts off the gas, keeping air flowing through the engine and the turbo. RTR-specific tuning for the stability control and adaptive dampers round out the performance upgrades.
While you might hope to find a manual transmission in a performance package that sports the branding of a drift champion, the RTR, like the rest of the EcoBoost Mustang lineup, is only available with a 10-speed automatic.

Looking the Part
RTR’s aftermarket packages include myriad appearance upgrades, and this factory effort is no different. In addition to the GT front bumper, the RTR EcoBoost wears the tuner’s signature LED-lit Mustang grille nostrils. It also gets 19-inch wheels, side mirrors, a spoiler and badging sprayed an exclusive color that RTR calls Tarnished Dark Anodized. Decals in the same color adorn the hood, rocker panels and rear quarter panels. Lime-green brake calipers are available, as is a Hyper Lime Appearance Package that replaces the dark-gray decals with matching green graphics.
Whether buyers spec the Hyper Lime exterior accents, the hue is used inside for the accent stitching, seat belts and drift brake (nee parking brake) lever. The requisite dash plaque and branded sill plates are also present.

Release Date and Pricing
RTR offers a series of upgrade packages for the Mustang GT, but the RTR Package for the EcoBoost differs in that it goes together on the assembly line and will be sold through Ford dealers — rather than being built after the fact from a complete car at RTR’s shop. It is also covered by Ford’s factory warranty.
RTR’s packages for the Mustang GT start at $11,495. With a gap of more than $14,000 between the Mustang EcoBoost and GT for the 2026 model year, it will be interesting to see where pricing lands for the RTR Package. Ford will begin taking orders in spring 2026, with deliveries to start that summer. Pricing will be announced closer to the start of sales.
