Ford Maverick 300T Is a SEMA Street-Truck Special You Can Build
Key Points
- Ford debuted the Maverick 300T project kit at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas.
- The 300T kit increases the Maverick’s power output to 300 horsepower and 317 pounds-feet of torque and uses some parts from the Lobo parts bin.
- The kit will be available sometime in 2026.
The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas is a car geek’s fever dream. It’s technically just a trade show, but aftermarket companies manufacturing everything from car covers and vinyl wraps to drivetrain and suspension parts bring in wild custom builds to draw attention to their wares, packing the Las Vegas Convention Center with 4.6 million square feet of jaw-dropping one-off vehicles of all types. There are classics and muscle cars, off-roaders and lowriders, and every flavor of modified Japanese and European import you can imagine — but rarely are any for sale.
The Maverick 300T Ford is exhibiting at this year’s SEMA Show is not for sale as a complete vehicle, but the kit to build your own will be available sometime next year. The 300T kit overhauls the Maverick in the vein of the street-truck-incarnate Lobo — and in fact uses some Lobo components — but takes Ford’s compact pickup truck to greater extremes.

Power, Suspension and Appearance
The name 300T references the output from the Maverick’s retuned 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Wearing the larger turbocharger from the Mustang EcoBoost, the 300T boosts the four-cylinder’s output from the stock 250 hp and 277 pounds-feet of torque to an even 300 hp and 317 pounds-feet. A Mishimoto intercooler lowers intake air temperatures, and the 300T exhales through a Borla cat-back exhaust, all while a ProCal 4 engine tune keeps everything working hunky dory.
Underneath the 300T is where you’ll find the Lobo bits. The Lobo’s lowering kit, rear dampers and firmer rear anti-roll bar support the 300T, which squats over 20-inch wheels borrowed from the Mustang Mach-E GT. Everything mentioned above will be included in the 300T kit, but not the tires. Curiously, Ford is displaying the 300T at the show with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires but recommends buyers fit Pirelli P Zero Elect rubber to their trucks. The 300T kit will also include a unique front splitter, badges for the fenders and grille, and floor mats.

The Fine Print
Ford says the Maverick 300T kit will be certified by the California Air Resources Board and legal to install in all 50 states, as well as covered by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty — so long as it is installed by a Ford dealer or a technician that’s certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. So maybe you can build it (if you’re ASE certified), but most likely, you’ll have to pay someone to build it if you want the warranty. The 300T kit can be installed on any 2025 Maverick XL, XLT or Lariat with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and all-wheel drive. Ford doesn’t require the truck be fitted with the 4K Tow Package, but it recommends it for the upgraded cooling capacity.
You may have noticed that the Lobo is not itself on the list of Mavericks Ford intends the 300T kit for. A Ford spokesperson tells us, “certain parts do not fit on [the] Lobo,” but the automaker is looking into making the kit work on its now second-sportiest mini truck.
The Maverick 300T is a project of Ford Custom Garage, which mostly designs and distributes appearance packages for the Bronco, Bronco Sport and F-150, but Ford says to expect “more of this playbook” from the division. More power with the security of a manufacturer warranty sounds like a winning combination. Hopefully, the first move out of that playbook is for the Lobo.
