Like the brand’s G70 compact and G80 mid-size sedans, the new GV70 will slot under the GV80 SUV in Genesis’ lineup. No word yet on model specifications, but Genesis has some good powertrain options, such as a version of the 365-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6 available in all three Genesis sedans or the new 290-hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter four that debuted in the Sonata N Line from parent Hyundai.
There’s no word yet on availability, but Genesis did say that the camouflaged GV70 will be tested on public roads in Korea for one month, starting today. We still haven’t been able to test the Genesis GV80, however, which is expected to go on sale this fall after production was pushed back due to coronavirus-related delays. It’s likely that it’ll be awhile before we see the GV70 as well. Stay tuned for more.
