Tire manufacturers typically recommend rotating tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. Moving the tires from front to back (and side to side in some cases) evens out wear and extends tire life. One rule of thumb is to rotate the tires at the same time you get an oil change, but with oil-change intervals of up to 10,000 miles now common, that may not be often enough. A better guideline is every 6,000 miles or every six months.
