Infiniti’s Q family of sedans is making room for a new arrival — the bouncing baby Q30. The all-new entry, of course, slots below its Q40, Q50, Q60 and Q70 sibs, and will be the runt of the litter. The world will get its first full glimpse of the Q30 later this month at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, but the automaker gave us a taste of things to come today.
Infiniti offered no photos of the exterior, but did throw around some seductive descriptors like “sculpted,” “expressive” and “visual dynamism.” The automaker previously released this image. We did, however, get a fresh look at the interior.
In terms of concrete details, Infiniti said the roof and support pillars of the “asymmetrical” cabin will be lined with Dinamica faux-suede from Italy, noting that the material is increasingly used in high fashion. In addition, the automaker said driver and passenger comfort will be enhanced by an elevated hip point, “aiding the in-control sense that combines well with Q30’s sharp dynamics.”
The Q30 will be unveiled the morning of Sept. 15, and is forecast to arrive in U.S. dealerships in late spring or early summer 2016.
