Kia Commemorates End of Stinger With Tribute Edition

The Kia Stinger helped the automaker rewrite the narrative for its vehicle lineup when it first appeared for the 2018 model year. Once known for vehicles that focused on value rather than driving excitement, Kia flipped the script with the Stinger, which made a strong initial impression both in driving dynamics and style. However, the South Korean firm is calling time on the car after 2023 and bidding farewell with the limited-run 2023 Stinger Tribute Edition.

Based on the GT2 trim, the 2023 Stinger Tribute Edition adds blackened accents and a choice of two colors: Ascot Green and the new Moonscape matte gray. The Tribute Edition also comes with 19-inch black wheels, black mirrors and black Brembo brake calipers. The sedan’s interior features brown leather seats and door panels, as well as faux carbon-fiber trim on the door panels and center console. The head restraints come adorned with a wasp symbol, a subtle reference to the nameplate.

The underpinnings carry over from the rest of the Stinger lineup, with Tribute Editions getting the GT2’s twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6 engine that makes 368 horsepower and 376 pounds-feet of torque coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Only 1,000 units of the 2023 Stinger Tribute Edition will be produced globally, 400 of which will be coming to the U.S. Pricing information wasn’t immediately available, but look for Kia to disclose that detail closer to its official launch.
