It looks the same from the outside, but the Genesis G70 sedan benefits from a host of minor interior changes for 2024, and it will definitely feel different when drivers are rushing up an on-ramp. Genesis replaced the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a turbo 2.5-liter engine making nearly 20% more power; in comparison, the base price bump of $2,170 represents an increase of only 5%.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

The 2024 G70’s new turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 300 horsepower and 311 pounds-feet of torque, which is 48 hp and 51 pounds-feet more than the outgoing 2.0-liter produced. The optional twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 is unchanged, producing 365 hp and 376 pounds-feet of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and are offered with standard rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for an additional $2,100.

The rear-drive four-cylinder loses 2 mpg off its highway fuel economy and 1 mpg combined compared with the 2023 model, coming in at an EPA-estimated 21/29/24 mpg city/highway/combined, while the AWD four-cylinder holds onto its 20/28/23 mpg rating. EPA ratings aren’t out yet for the V-6 model, but seeing as the powertrain is a carryover, they’re unlikely to budge from the 2023 numbers of 18/27/21 mpg for the RWD version and 17/26/20 mpg with AWD.

Availability and Pricing

The 2024 Genesis G70 will arrive at dealers in the coming weeks. Full pricing (including $1,195 for delivery) is as follows:

  • 2.5T Standard: $42,695
  • 2.5T Sport Prestige: $46,895
  • 3.3T Sport Advanced: $51,145
  • 3.3T Sport Prestige: $55,545

Trim Levels and Safety Equipment

The 2.5T Standard features 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and LED exterior lighting, plus a host of driver-assist systems that includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-following assist, driver attention warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, and auto high beams. In the luxury column, it boasts a hands-free power trunk, keyless entry and start, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and satellite radio. Add AWD, and Genesis will throw in a heated steering wheel, too.

In exchange for the extra $4,200 Genesis charges for the 2.5T Sport Prestige trim level, buyers receive dark-chrome exterior trim, aluminum interior trim, a moonroof, leather seats with a ventilation feature for the front buckets, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a Lexicon audio system, wireless phone charging, and front and rear parking sensors.

With the twin-turbo V-6, the Sport Advanced trim level largely mirrors the 2.5T’s Sport Prestige, adding a variable steering ratio, a variable exhaust system and an adjustable bottom cushion and side bolsters on the driver’s seat. At the top of the line, the 3.3T Sport Prestige includes an adaptive suspension, limited-slip differential, Nappa leather seats and a synthetic suede headliner. It also nets additional safety features: a head-up display, a 360-degree camera system for parking in tight spots, and blind spot cameras that show the area to the sides of the car on a display in the instrument cluster when the driver activates a turn signal.
