Reader Review of the Week: 2008 BMW M6

“The BMW M6 is a successful blend of high performance and practicality. The V10 engine provides exhilarating power, all the right noises, and is still totally docile around town. I have no complaints with the SMG seven-speed; just keep it shifting quickly in auto mode or use the flippers for best results. It has a great interior for two.

“I choose to maintain my car beyond factory specs, but it has remained flawless in operation without exorbitant cost.

“Some negatives: I wish it weighed a bit less for both fuel economy and handling. It drives OK, but just barely. Overall, an excellent choice for me between outrageous performance and otherwise acting like a reasonable adult.”
