It seems the front of Toyota’s Prius C concept borrows more than a few styling cues from Scion, Toyota’s youth brand that targets youthful city dwellers.
The C is smaller and more aggressive looking than any Prius to come before in order to reach that audience, and the move adds some much-needed character to the Prius name. Standing next to it, I’d say it’s about the same size as a Toyota Yaris sedan.
Up front there’s a gaping trapezoidal grille, and thin headlights sit high on the nose. They may look reminiscent of the Scion xD, but around back the Prius C looks completely different from any production Scion. The rear fenders grow out of the side starting behind the front fender and peak near the rear wheel, creating a widened-body look. Adding to the wide perception is a short nose and minimal overhang or trunk past the rear wheel.

Unfortunately, this concept was locked up so I didn’t get to sit inside, but it’s obviously a concept car with concept car interior. The climate control stack looks cool but probably would be a nightmare to use, and the seats seem to have the construction of a lawn chair.
The Prius name isn’t synonymous with exciting in terms of driving, but as far as exciting-looking, I’d give it a thumbs up.
