The Toyota teasers keep trickling in. Earlier this month, Toyota teased us with news that it was debuting a new Land Cruiser, three years after it announced it was killing the nameplate. Now, the automaker is showing us a teeny glimpse of the grille and letting us know when we’ll finally see the whole thing: The 2024 Land Cruiser will make its debut Aug. 1.

Similar to other teasers, Toyota released a new photo of the 2024 model juxtaposed against what looks like a first-gen Land Cruiser, with the new version echoing the older model’s squared-off headlights and blocky grille.

What would we want to see from the new Land Cruiser? In our review of the last-hurrah version, the 2021 Land Cruiser Heritage Edition, the large body-on-frame SUV lost points for its dated controls, high price and abysmal fuel economy — to name just a few issues. The new model has a lot of catching up to do.

Stay tuned for the full reveal.
