CARS.COM — Toyota’s latest teaser for the 2019 TRD Pro off-road editions of its trucks — which it will reveal Thursday at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show — is a mostly dust-obscured shot of a Tacoma. But one thing stands out: an intake snorkel rising above the cab.
A snorkel prevents the intake from sucking in water when fording a stream and, in this case, also sucking in less of the dust being kicked up by the truck. Toyota offered no details, including whether the snorkel is optional for the new Tacoma TRD Pro; what we can see through the dust looks little different in appearance from the current model.
The teaser follows an earlier one, below, for the TRD Pro models showing a Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner from afar. We’ll have full coverage from the show, so check back for details. You also can watch a live stream of the unveiling here.
