Worst car buying experience ever!!!

Rode through the parking lot just looking at the inventory. Never stopped or got out of my vehicle. As I was leaving a guy runs up to my window. I wave and continue to pull off and he is still all up in my window. I roll the window down and I tell him we were just looking. He proceeds to beg me to give him 5 minutes of my time. We say what the heck and go inside. We tell him what vehicle we were interested in. He starts the paper work. We'll 5 minutes turned into almost four hours. During this time our salesman goes to another desk and starts waiting on another customer. We were told everything was gonna work out and to drive the vehicle home that night because they were closing. He told us to be back at 9 am the next morning. We arrived the next morning and once again sat there for hours. Every time I asked him what was going on all he would say was " I got you , don't worry". Well he finally came back to his desk and said come outside. Once outside he said we can't get you in this vehicle but we can get you in this one and pointed to a vehicle he had pulled up behind us. We explained to him that we didn't want that vehicle and if we did we would have told him to start with. By this time we had wasted over 6 hours at this dealership and got nothing but a run around. We went inside to get our keys off his desk and told him we were leaving. He follows us out the door still giving us a run around. A very nice guy who was over the other guy comes out and tells the first guy to go back in. He was very nice and asked what the problem was. We explained it to him and he asked what vehicle we wanted. We told him and he said I don't see why you can't get that one. A new salesman started helping us and he was great. He got everything worked out and we got the vehicle we wanted. You might think the story ends with a happy ending. .... well it doesn't! We had a trade in and we were told it would be paid off. About a week later I started calling the loan company of the other vehicle to see if it was paid off. Guess what? It wasn't! So I call the dealership to find out what is going on because they already had the trade in vehicle. I talked to several different people and they were all very rude to me. One even transferred me in mid sentence while I was trying to talk to her. Finally I was told that they would not pay the other vehicle off till the finance company paid them for the car we just bought. So now we call the finance company and are told that the dealership was paid 4 days prior. I called last Friday to ask the dealership if it was paid yet. And it wasn't. I was told that until the finance company's money hit their bank account that they wouldn't pay off the other loan. The finance company paid them four days earlier. I was told to call back Monday to see if it was processed. I have got nothing from them but attitude every time I call. I called back today and I am told a different story as to when it will be paid. Something totally different from anything that we were ever told. It has been 16 days now since we made the deal and traded in the other vehicle and it still hasn't been paid off yet and get this, the payment for the trade in is due today. So I have to pay a payment on a vehicle that I don't even have any more the dealership has it. If I don't pay it then it shows up as a late payment on my credit. As the title says this is the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I will definitely not ever do business with them again nor will I recommend them to anyone! .... I have purposely left out the names of the people. I'm not here to bash anyone, but rather to let people know the awful experience I had at this dealership.

poor customer service

Service is terrible.they never return calls or have any information on your vehicle. My vehicle stayed in the shop for over a month and I did not receive any information unless I called them.

True to Their Word

My husband and I bought a vehicle a few days ago and overall our experience was great. Our salesman was Bulldog and he was a really friendly and funny guy. We got the deal that we wanted and later had an issue that Bulldog and the manger, Tony, worked really hard on resolving. I was very impressed at how they worked with us to make sure we had exactly what we wanted and were happy. I would definitely buy another vehicle from Bulldog and University in the future!

Awesome experience...

We bought a new vehicle from University Dodge over the weekend. We are very happy with the purchase and every one there was extremely nice. We had a good time with our salesman (Trooper). We was a great guy. Sales manager was really nice and helpful as well. Only complaint I have is for final guy that we signed all the paperwork with. He came off a little rude and not as nice and friendly as the other people we dealt with. Overall though I would come back to buy a vehicle again.

The salesman, Reed Turner, was friendly and efficient and...

The salesman, Reed Turner, was friendly and efficient and I think he is a great salesperson. The problems were in the department that handled the money. I traded in a vehicle which I still owed on. (More than it was worth) I gave Anniston Chrysler Dodge Jeep a cashiers check for $20,000 that covered the payoff on the trade in, and the down payment on the new vehicle. After a week or two, I noticed that the finance company still had no record of the trade-in vehicle being paid off. We called the dealership and spoke to Barbara who explained that due to an oversight, the payment had not yet been made. No big deal, we said OK and thought that was the end of the issue. Then we started getting calls from the finance company saying that our payment was past due and it was going to affect our credit negatively if the payment wasn't made. We called the dealership back and got the run around. No one seemed to know why the finance company hadn't been paid yet. Finally, we had to make a call to the dealership with the finance company on the line. We again spoke to Barbara, who didn't realize that the finance company was on the line. She stated that it was taken care of and the finance company would be getting the money the next day. The finance company representative that was on the other line had no record of any such arrangement. I'm just wondering how Anniston Chrysler Jeep Dodge managed to "misplace" almost $14,000 for an entire month. I was planning on purchasing another vehicle in the very near future, but will definitely NOT be going back to this dealership EVER again.

This dealership is greatly lacking in customer service. I live just a few miles from the dealership and drive 35 minutes to the next closest jeep dealership just so I don't have to deal with the rudeness of the service staff. If you need work done go elsewhere.
