The entire staff was great. Blake and the sales manager were terrific. Listened to what we wanted and delivered. I can’t say that about my experience with Merrick Jeep in Wantagh whom I have been a customer for many yrs. If I get another Jeep when my other jeep is due off lease I will be going back to Security.

When I went to accept delivery on my vehicle, Will Ventura asked me if I wished to finance "the" extended warranty. When I said I don't buy extended warranties, he said "The deal is contingent on the extended warranty" and "That might be a deal breaker." He left the office, spoke with someone, came back and said "Yeah, we're gonna take a pass" [on the sale]. I asked for a refund of my deposit and he said it had to "go to accounting", but to call him if I hadn't received it by the following Wednesday (in 5 calendar days). On Day 3, Rob Schlecker called and said he would "never" let his mother or sister buy a vehicle without an extended warranty (wonder why he didn't say father/brother...hmmm). He would hate to see me have a breakdown out in the "boonies." I said if you sell a quality vehicle, a warranty's not needed. He said he'd talk to Ventura. No one ever called or contacted me. I sent numerous emails (including cc'ing the owner Jonathan Vigorito) to Schlecker and Ventura requesting the refund. I left voicemails, too and never received any reply (via email or phone). I had my attorney write a letter requesting the refund. AMAZINGLY, they called me the day they received the letter and said "Come on down for your refund" (without mentioning the letter). I'd never do business with this dealer! I have bought numerous vehicles in my life (I am > 60 years old) and have never had a dealer try to twist my arm into buying an extended warranty like this, or even close to like this. Beware...
